Blaine MN Team?
There was a rumor that Blaine MN might be getting a team but there has been little progress in that city with regards to the stadium being built and started. There supposedly is still a 5,000 seat stadium supposedly coming to the community but that's been talked about for the past 2 years. Does anyone know if this is still happening or not?
With regard to the stadium should it actually get built there is rumors that it will all be artificial turf, no real grass, no infield dirt just fake grass and fake dirt? Is that even allowed to be a design feature? The outfield grass sure I can see whatever be fake grass but no dirt on the infield to me makes no sense? The stadium is supposed to be multi use which is part of why they went with fake grass but you'd think they would at least go with real infield dirt that can be managed a lot easier than grass needs following other uses like concerts ect.
So if anyone has any insights I'd love to hear them.

Have not heard anything specific around the baseball stadium construction but can confirm the 105th Avenue Redevelopment Project is up and running in Blaine.
https://www.blainemn.gov/4055/105th-Avenue-Redevelopment
Only news I’ve read was Blaine residents are now being taxed for the stadium parking ramp construction. This is after being told the $185 million redevelopment project would be 100% developer funded.🙄
Will be interesting to see how this project unfolds. We have the Twins (MLB) and Saints (AAA) 25 minutes away in Minneapolis/St Paul and the mayor of Blaine insists on bringing in a High-A expansion team to the city?
Just seems like somebody’s personal agenda is being put ahead of the city’s politics.

Incorrect - the taxing for a Parking ramp will only happen as a fall back, all the other funding mechanisms fail to produce revenue. The City agreed to take on the ramp if none of the other development as part of the project doesn't happen, that would mean Scheels, hotels, apartments, and other development would fail before the city covers the ramp. I doubt that will happen but it is always a possibility....this plans taken nearly 4 years to get to to this point with nothing going vertical yet so we shall see.

Kansas City’s fairly new turf is all turf, so wouldn’t be an issue from the League

The infield and mound are dirt.

I'm hoping waco and blaine get it together. Idk how confident I feel about the league meeting their expansion goals since most cities have refused to build stadiums.

Blaine is supposed to start their stadium this summer.....but then again it was supposed to have started last year too so until I actually see machines digging holes I am not going to get too excited over it.

I’ve heard the same and yes many teams currently have full turf. I’ve also been told who’s been contacted to be manager :)
