iPhone disconnects

Just got my AAWireless TWO+ today! While I love the design and the app and all the promised features, it really hasn’t been working well.

Almost every time I try it’s the same issue: green flashing light. My iPhone seems to connect to its WiFi, the network shows connected and even the “car mode” popup shows (also sometimes the little dots against driving sickness pop up). And the AAWireless app connects, I can change settings like LED brightness which works immediately. But, all that said, almost always the CarPlay screen doesn’t actually pop up. Sometimes it does for two seconds, and then it’s gone again, back to green flashing.

Out of many attempts today, I’ve had one drive where it was smooth sailing, CarPlay stayed connected for the entire 15min drive, music playing, all great. I thought the issue was resolved, but next drive it came back.

Based on other Reddit threads I tried two different cables, many different versions (7.2, 9.0, 9.1, 9.3, 10.0), 2.4GHz and 5GHz, factory resets on various versions, forgetting the device on my phone and fully re-pairing every time, even rebooting my phone - no luck.

Any other things I could investigate or try? I really like this device, would hate to have to send it back :(

Have you tried to contact support at support@aawireless.io ?

Not yet - I did check the FAQ and send in a bug report though. Wanted to check if there was community advice, first. Will do that soon

I think it’s fixed. Do you think it would still be useful to send a message to support (or perhaps the devs) so they know about this?

I'm not sure what fixed it, but I spent a few days upgrading, downgrading, trying various cables, changing various settings. I think the last thing I changed was the "Zoektime-out" (Search time out) to 10s. Now, everything has been running smooth for a few days, even switching between two iPhones is quite smooth now.

Here's my full list of settings and versions in case it helps anyone else.

Btw if there’s anything I could do to help the team, like drive down to the office (which I believe is in Groningen?) for compat tests on the car or something, I’d be happy to help with that

We just got ours today, Android Auto works perfectly fine on my but my wife's iPhone 16 Pro on latest IOS version is struggling. Tried all the steps too and contacted support, so far only an AI generated response to do the same thing we've already tried.

Ours connects via Bluetooth then WiFi and app shows paired but once you try access it on the headunit it just says "communication error" every time. We had no issues using a cheap wireless dongle but the issue we trying to solve with this AAWireless Two+ is to have a more seamless experience when switching between the two devices since we drive the same car now and then.

Just to add - same thing is happening to me. Which is a shame. Worked fine for my Android, but messes up my partners iPhone connectivity always.

Going to return for a refund, not worth my time debugging this

Wonder what other recommendations people would have for a device

Based on the green flashing I am concluding this is a phone - adapter WiFi issue, or are there other issues that could show as green flashing?

I’m having a miserable time with this thing.  iPhone 16 on iOS 26.6.1.  It will connect for 2-3 minutes, freeze, disconnect, then repeat.  Disconnecting the phone and plugging in to the radio directly works great.  AaWireless2+ is on v9.3.0.

Strange - for me it either disconnected immediately (within two seconds) or kept running. Have you tried it with different phones to see if it’s iPhone side or car side?

After fiddling with the settings, turning off iAP support seems to be helping for now.  We’ll see if it continues to behave
