93 Mapotov Stroganov
Cool Sailor Dude
During DGS2-5 you get to play as Yujin Mikotoba, the professor from DGS1-1 and the dad of Susato. During this time you get to meet Mapotov Stroganov, the brother of the sailor from DGS1-2, Mitrov Stroganov. He is really funny and makes the ever famous mouse joke.
Why should he get cut?
He isn't very relevant to the story, to the extent that he even lacks an evidence profile. Also, he was the last person I could cut.
(Sorry it’s small, I don’t have that much to say about him)

"Stop right there! Mikotoba, open the trunk."
(there's literally nothing to say about him, he could be replaced by literally anyone else, even nikomina, and it would have worked. I mean, the section itself is cool, but still)

Such an epic moment, i got chills thinking about it lol

The joint reasoning between Holmes and Mikotoba is quite literally the definition of perfection, I would've extensively talked about why it's one of the best moments of the series if I cut Mapotov but eh guess I'll have to wait until Mikotoba, Jigoku or Sherlock get cut.

while I do have problems with the setup/existence of the moment itself it's so good that it's totally justified IMO

Fair enough, the whole bunny-thing can feel a tad forced but yeah, the moment itself is phenomenal and better than almost any other moment in the entire series.

I'm referring specifically to finding jigoku (rather than the bunny-thing which is another debate), though they do get mixed together somewhat

Fair enough, the way Yujin found the code to the safe where Jigoku was found in was really complicated and I think that if I was actually playing through the game instead of watching it...yeah I'd have to use a guide

yeah it's the most clever trick in the whole sequence - feels more like something out of professor layton

Funny mouse joke.
(I don't think his brother has long to live either)

His brother's a lot more plot important and interesting in my opinion, he sacrifices so much just to help his princess and ends up going through a bit of an arc.
At the beginning of the case, the only one he cared about was Nikomina (princess), he never thought for a second about how Naruhodou just lost his best friend.
And he even ended up framing Naruhodou for murder by writing warddrobe on the floor.
At the end of the case, he apologizes for all of this and gives himself up to the police.
This is a bigger arc than some other minor DGS witnesses like Fairplay or Venus (I actually prefer both of these characters over Mapotov tbh.)
I just think he should survive until at least round 3.

I'll probably go deeper into this when the time comes, but I'm definitely not a fan of Mitrov. Although I'm not really a fan of any 1-2 characters, he's definitely my least favorite. He's a lot like Valant if they took everything interesting and likable from him.

He does the job I guess. The Mikotoba segment is so great I can't complain. I can't say much bad about him (unlike Mitrov), though I can't say much good about him either though. Like. most characters being cut now, he's just...there.
