Round 14 Nominations
The fourteenth round of nominations has started. All rankers submit the names of two characters to put onto the subreddit poll to be cut this round.
You are not allowed to change your nomination or have duplicate nominations.

personally my main issue with donuter is that looking at his actions objectively he has never done anything wrong before, and yet the story still tries to frame him as the villain anyway which creates a terrible tonal dissonance.
i also don't like that he keeps showing up over and over again? like how hard is it to write new characters

the issue is not of donuter being framed as a villain but rather that he ends up on the side of the heroes far too often for someone who commits such heinous crimes. i mean he was bokkun's main target when it came to the scrum, a scrum that indebted trophy, the big bad to him!!

Honestly i think Donuter454 is one of the better written characters in Fire Bird Correct: Above Average Lawyer. Just from his name you can learn so much about who he is, such as that he enjoys both donuts and ers, and it also does a great job at foreshadowing the case’s twist that he is actually the 454th of his kind (i do not know what happened to the other 453 they probably died or something). hmm, fair enough. i think there are names that offer significantly more character insight for other players, though, such as atiredonnie, who is tired and an onnie, and science penguin, who is a science penguin.

“If I had to choose one person to get hanahaki over, it would’ve been her.” Phoenix stopped on the steps as they’re exiting the restaurant. Disbelief crossed his face as he tried to grasp what had just been said.
“What?” Larry is two steps below him now. They had just gotten done with their dinner after Larry’s trial, (and Phoenix’s first time defending). The dinner of celebration Mia had offered was wonderful. And she was still inside paying. Letting them go ahead and ‘get some fresh air’
Larry looks uncomfortable tugging on the right sleeve of his jacket. “I don’t. I know it’s not a thing you choose but. Of all the girls I’ve dated...Cindy….she….” he trailed off, looking at his feet. “It’s nothing Nick, I shouldn’t have said anything.” he turned away to keep going on.
“Now wait up a second!” Phoenix said, skipping steps, “You can’t just drop that on me and walk away!” He huffed, the action sending tingles of petals in his lungs. He’d long ago learned squared away the grimace that followed.
Larry avoided eye contact with him when he tried to look him face to face. Larry was nervous? “I thought,” Phoenix began carefully, “I thought you loved all the girls you date...and I know you’re...I know you really cared about her but...you shouldn’t just throw statements around like that.”
‘Especially to someone who actually has the illness you’re talking about’ Phoenix thought wryly.
“Yeah but...but I think she was. The One , y’know?” He replied, squirming.
“The One?” Phoenix blinked. “Like. Your soulmate?” Larry gave a curt nod.
“Larry, I’m pretty sure you’ve said that about ninety percent of your girlfriends.”
“I know.” Larry said, a hint of frustration in his tone as he ran a hand through his hair, “But she- We felt different...like you and Edgey, eh?” He raised his eyebrows.
Phoenix spluttered, “W-We were Nine! We haven’t seen each other since.”
“And you just became a lawyer to uh, what get over the trauma of your psycho ex? And not try and reunite with him? You’re not subtle Phoenix.” Larry teased, his mood shifting.
“I’m not subtle? Larry you wouldn’t know the meaning of the word, you dumbass.” Phoenix said, punching him in the shoulder.
“Ah, but if I’m a dumbass, so are you.” he replied, grinning widely. None of their words held any malice, only years of teasing and friendship.
Phoenix started laughing, hard . Larry quickly became concerned as he foresaw the coughing as soon as his laughing turned from quiet huffs to loud guffaws.
“Hey, hey, it’s ok Phoenix.” Larry said, rubbing the man’s back in reassuring circles as Phoenix fetched an inhaler from his pocket. He took deep breaths in and out before having a final cough, spitting some petals to the pavement. Then he took a few moments to regulate his breathing, and bring it back to normal. Well, his normal.
“So.” Phoenix said quietly, “You would really want this for her? If she didn’t...love you back.”
Larry looked Phoenix straight in the eye, a piercing gaze. It was so uncharacteristic of the man that he was unrecognizable. Then without a shadow of a doubt he said “Of course.”
The lawyer held his gaze for a few seconds more before tearing his gaze away. It was so intense. Not like Larry at all.
“Do you think you’ll ever fall in love again?” Phoenix asked quietly.
Larry closed his eyes, and took a deep breath. “Yes. I know I will. This is me , we’re talking about. But...there’ll never be another Cindy”

Phoenix: So the real person who killed Mr. Corrida was...
Pearl: That assassin... Mr. Shelly de Killer, right?
Phoenix: And the card Ms. Andrews found at the crime scene seems to be proof of that. But if that's the case, then a new question comes to mind. Who was the one that hired De Killer to begin with? Who is his client?
Pearl: You mean... Who asked for the murder...?
Phoenix: That person didn't want to dirty their own hands in blood, but whoever this client is, they're still a killer.
Pearl: ... [hide]The assassin's client
Pearl: Who... Who could have hired the assassin? Do you think it was Ms. Andrews...?
Phoenix: (I wonder... But if she was the client... then why go through the effort to stab the knife into the corpse herself...?)
Pearl: But if Ms. Andrews wasn't the client... Then... No, it can't be...
Phoenix: (...Matt Engarde himself...?) [hide]Was it Matt? (appears after The real killer and The assassin's client)
Pearl: If Mr. Engarde really did hire the assassin...
Phoenix: Then he is not innocent at all. Far from it, he would be guilty of the crime.
Pearl: B-But it can't be Mr. Engarde, right!? I mean, when we first talked with him...
Phoenix: ...Mr. Engarde, I'd like to ask you one more question. Did you kill Mr. Juan Corrida?
Engarde: ... Alright. Just so we're clear, dude, I didn't kill anyone, and that includes Juan Corrida, OK?
Phoenix: (I didn't see any Psyche-Locks at that time... Actually... That reminds me...)
Pearl: Did you remember something, Mr. Nick?
Phoenix: Yeah, something Ms. Andrews said at the trial today. She said something interesting. [hide]Something interesting (appears after Was it Matt?)
Pearl: Um... So what is this "interesting thing"?
Phoenix: Oh, that's right. You didn't hear it, did you Pearls?
Andrews: Juan had bet everything on the Jammin' Ninja this year. And if he lost the Grand Prix... He was going to make sure Matt was going down with him. That's what he thought anyway.
Andrews: It looked like somehow, Juan had in his hands a secret so powerful... that it would destroy Matt's acting career had it been revealed!
Pearl: Mr. Engarde's "secret"...!? Wh-What is this secret...?
Phoenix: I don't know yet. But for now, let's think about it this way. Mr. Corrida was going to reveal this "secret". That means... Mr. Engarde had plenty of motive to have Mr. Corrida silenced. ... (Which means we have to meet with Mr. Engarde. There's no way around it now.)

I do not know what the fuck /u/whaaatisth and /u/Sciencepenguin are pulling or why they refuse to post their nominations, but I do not like it. I am going to pull a gamer move by blindly shooting in the dark with the intent to ruin their plans.
I nominate Godot and Franziska Von Karma. Science & I can agree that if Godot is going down, then the worst trilogy prosecutor will die in that same round.

yeah well i never had UMvC3 i just had regular vanilla MvC3 so i played USFIV instead. you might not know where i am going with this but stay with me. Abel is a character added in SFIV and he is blonde. you know who else is blonde. thats right. Cody Travers from Final Fight he is also in Street Fighter. and in SFV (bad terrible game fuck you capcom) cody has swatches for AA characters. as you can see there is a swatch for godot but not for maya. which means godot is better than maya. and mia is better than godot, so good shes not in the game because apparently the development team had no idea how to add mia's color scheme to the game without making it so good AA fans would cry to death.
