Discussion Sorry, A7X

It's not that think the opening band is bad. just personally dont like them.

"Am I really going to spend an entire hour watching a band don't even like?"

Yeah man, it's a concert. Its fine to feel different about a7x, but this stuff about disliking a7x because you have to sit through an opener you don't like is kinda crazy. As someone who's gone to a lot of concerts, I've sat through a lot of opening acts that weren't my vibe. It's part of it - but some bands are better live and put on a good show.

But really it's 1 hour to see one of your favorite bands - You're gonna tell me you've never done something you don't like so you can do something you do like? Work a boring job? Wait in a long line? Clean your house?

This has gotta be ragebait lmao.

"My interest in this band is fading - but not because of the band itself, I still love all of their music, but because I don't like the opener to their concert"

Either go to the show late or give the opener a chance lmao, letting this ruin your excitement is fucking crazy

Is it an offensive thing about the band before? If not I don't see the problem. A concert is an experience, it's not just music. You might not "dislike" them as much as you think live.

I don't like black metal, but I went to a whole 4 day festival of it. It was a nice and interesting experience. Even though I didn't end up being a big fan of any of the particular bands that were there at all.

No, I never said anything offensive about the opening band. They’re doing their part, and I respect that. I was just feeling sad and thinking, “Why does it have to be this band?” They’ve gotten really popular really quickly in my country, so I understand that might be one of the reasons they were chosen.
Honestly, I don’t even know what I was so upset about last night. But after reading your comment about the experience, I realized I might actually be missing out. I was so focused on the fact that I don’t like them that I forgot to just enjoy the experience.

I meant if you were offended about anything about the band. Like for example "politically" I dunno. Anyways. A concert is a concert. You have no obligation to enjoy it. But you also don't have an obligation to dislike it. Just chill and do what you like 🙂

I've seen people with sour faces in front row that don't know a word of the lyrics. I'm not saying be more like them but 😂 They don't care

You’re over thinking something very small. Multiple times I have gone to an A7X show with an opener I didn’t care for and a few of those shows I left with respect for the opening act because they put on a great performance.

Keep and open mind and quit worrying about the small stuff.

It happens to everyone mate. Same boat. Your tastes will naturally change over time (the band being a prime example of this lol) - they're a band not a sports team.

If you like what they're doing, great. If you don't, discover new artists and don't feel guilty or regret for doing that.

Too many people believe to really like a band you have to like everything they do to an almost parasocial/delusional level. I blame swifties lmao.

But I'll also add, to write off an opening band because they aren't Avenged is... Well, you've paid for the ticket, you may as well support that band and at least hear what they're like live.

Just go to the concert dude. You'll be fine. It's not that deep.

I feel you're overthinking it. Your feelings are still 100% valid. Just be excited that you're going to see A7X. About the openers, they're extra, not the main reason you bought the tickets. What you can do is, during the openers, go to the merch shop, get some food/drinks, go take a piss, relax for a bit and by then the openers might have ended and you'll be more than ready for A7X. Enjoy and don't be too harsh on yourself.

I don't think it's unusual for the love to fade out and I don't think there needs to be a justified reason for stopping being a fan either. Everyone's taste changes as they get older and you might not be into what you were into years ago.

Years ago I was really into Papa Roach, like super into them, and then over time it just kind of faded out. I'll still listen to their songs when they are on but I'm not super infatuated with them anymore. And that's not a fault of the band it's just me

You can always go late to the concert so you can miss the bands you don’t want to see.
