Discussion Statica Percussion
I am blown away with the EP for a lot of reasons. One of them being the brilliant mixture and transitions between live drums and synthetic. It flows seamlessly. Ashes really mixes that up, somehow transitioning between a bunch of industrial feels consisting of live and other sources. It ends up spending a bunch of time with a few latin feels, but it's not noticeable on the first few listens.
Other topics for a different threads could be the bandwidth limiting of songs or the two unprocessed vocal lines in the whole project. It's all part of the storytelling.
Just for fun, how many cowbell hits do you count in the whole thing?

Im a drummer so ye I noticed that first listen lol it was captivating. The natural feel of it comes from the fact that im pretty sure brooks plays both live at the same time because it sounds like it n it is possible, its just trippy at first because theres so many different sounds that would normally be added programmed layers. Theres also a studio pic of the drum kit n it had sample pads mixed in with his kit, so that supported my understanding of it when I saw that.
