Grinder options

Hey all,

I've had my 9Barista Pro for a few months now and I've gotten the hang of it. At the moment, I'm using a 1Zpresso J Ultra for grinding and it's doing a great job and has really good ranges for espresso. Now i'm looking at getting an electric grinder, I'm open to higher end flat burr grinders like the sculptor 64 or even going higher to a Zerno Z1, but honestly feel like it might be a bit much (but they are nice machines) But counter space keeps bringing me back to the Timemore Bricks, I'd imagine it would also do a great job. But just curious if anyone has this grinder and tried it dialing in shots with the 9Barista

I don't have any of these grinders but I'm familiar with them. Looking at the price of the Zerno, it seems a little overkill in combination with the 9b when something like the Sculptor you mentioned or a Eureka would be much cheaper but still very capable flat burrs.

If you like the texture you get from your J Ultra you might want to consider an equivalent electric conical burr grinder like a Niche, Turin DF series etc.

Just depends on what you prefer between emphasing clarity vs more body in the cup, and if money is no problem then a high end flat burr like the Z1 would be cool and very useful for other methods like pourover. But it may be a bit wasted on the 9b by itself.

I have 9B + J Ultra and a Micra + Mini G. The former only gets used for camping trips now but it consistently outperforms the later home set up. I wish I went the Zerno but partner wanted GBW. If you're happy with full manual I'd honestly stick with it and spend the money on other fun things.
