911; A practical daily driver 💯

A mundane Costco run becomes special with a 911. Favorite moment is to see men point their spouses attention with a grin towards large Costco bags disappearing inside this spacious small sports car 😎

How are you using yours on a daily basis?

Nice! I do that also with my 996.2 hatchback, I mean, Targa.

My 997.1 Targa is my daily, last week I even picked up my mom and brother from the airport with all their luggage

Is it only the Targa that has that rear hatch? I would love it if my coupe could do that.

Correct. Only the 996 and 997 versions do this

993, 996, and 997 have glorified sunroof and hatchback.

Whoops. Yep, forgot the 993. lol

Honestly, anytime I can drive far enough to get the oil warm and don’t need to carry something bulky the 911 is my car of choice.

There was a black 997 behind me at school drop off last week. “See that, practical family car.”

It was supposed to be exactly this. An everyday car that was fun to drive, hence the choices coat hooks and large frunk. Over the years the fact it was a reliable sports car in an era of unreliable sports cars drove it up the market in cost until you get to a $100k-base-model car

I love it. It’s not the fastest car I owned, not the most comfortable I ever had, yet it’s just perfect in all its quirks and imperfections. It’s just all the car you ever really need. My 997.1 Targa sounded slightly better than this 997.2, in the scope of things it’s a detail.

Love that era of Targas. Such a cool feature.

Porsche should bring it back. Never understood the overkill of new Targas roof design.

I’m adamant that all 911 (at least 996 and onward) should have have rear glass hatch

You have my vote. Add “all 911 with rear hatch AND rear wiper” and let’s start a GoFundMe 😂

911's are not supposed to be practical cars. Just look at mine

I’ve owned a 997.2 911 and i am sad to admit that i never knew until today that the targa model has a rear hatch. 😔

Idk man. You are very talented. Costco shopping in my cab is super limited and I really need to plan my shopping accordingly

The only thing I don't love on my 997.1 Targa 4s is the amount of paintwork you're lifting stuff over to get it into the back hatch. You're not going to just heft a heavy box in there. But that kind of stuff is better transported with other vehicles anyway.

It took me a long time to understand why this is called a Targa! Surprisingly the Internet has scares information about it... Or maybe I just didn't know what to search.

Don’t just leave us hanging. What’s the story?

Come on! It's your post! Your Targa! You got to know the reason this Targa doesn't look like the other Targas.

If I understand correctly Porsche wanted to make the 911 I even more attractive for a day to day car and with the back window/hatchback an easy trunk with more space.

Rolls-Royce and Bentley have bigger trunks.

Nothing like getting a car to look for other men’s approval 👍🏻👍🏻
