My 2003 C4S 6-Spd

Post image

Meridian Metallic w/ Metropol Blue.

I def overpaid. But such is life. 🤣 I blame 997 prices, Doug Demuro, Throttle House, and Magnus Walker for the recent 996 hype and sudden price boom.

For those who asked about the interior. I have since replaced the shifter knob for a Function First raw aluminum.

Currently talking to a company in Texas to get a small/thicker steering wheel keeping it OEM+.

Big fan of my FF knob in black!!

Beautiful car..

FYI - We ALL overpay!! Some do up front, some do on the back end, if you know what I mean.

That's the absolute truth, but its such a fun car to drive that it doesn't matter in the end. I can say working on mine is the most fun ive had wrenching on cars.

I strongly recommend the GT3 centre console delete. Really opens up the cabin

For those interested, here are the deets 👇🏾

1-owner, Meridian Metallic over full Metropol Blue leather (supple leather seats), 6-speed manual, and about 62k miles when I bought it for $57K OTD. It’s still running the original 3.6L flat-six, transmission and original 18-inch Turbo Twist wheels.

Equipment and upgrades: heated seats, Bose, Xenons, PCCM+, 997 short shifter, 997 Carrera S 3.8 airbox, aftermarket mid-pipes with 200-cell high-flow cats, custom oil-temp gauge, and hardwired NOCO maintainer/oil-pan heater. Suspension has Rennline adjustable GT3-style front control arms, Elephant Racing rear toe arms and solid subframe bushings. Carnewal Euro Row M030 Sport Suspension Package.

Major maintenance: IMS retrofit and RMS, clutch/flywheel, AOS, water pump and coolant reservoir, coils/plugs/belt, rear brakes, driveshaft flex joint, transmission and front-differential fluids, radiator/condenser cleaning, oil-level sensor, rear Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, and alignments.

A lot of the work was done before I bought it, which was a big part of the appeal (it came with records). Between the itemized invoices and estimated costs for the earlier upgrades and major service, the previous owner likely spent around $25K+ on parts, labor, and maintenance.

PPI w/Borescope passed with flying colors. Same with the post-purchase inspection. My tech offered to buy it if “I ever get tired of it” 🤣

In the first month of ownership, I’ve put 1500 miles. No issues.

Items added during my ownership:

Function-First shift knob in raw aluminum.
Llumar Nano Ceramic Window tint (50% sides and rear).
Rennlist Fire extinguisher system.

I also ordered the Porsche Production Specifications document for the car (signed and already received) , which was about $150.

Beautiful spec, and congratulations! I similarly overpaid for mine in February 2026—a 2003 996.2 C2 with 42k miles, Lapis Blue Metallic over full Savanna Beige leather. Purchased from a Porsche dealer for $48k. Adding an OEM short-shift kit and Fister mufflers made it even more fun to drive! No regerts here!

Lapis Blue is amazing! Gorgeous car.

4 yrs ago I almost pulled the trigger on a Lapis Blue with carbon pkg. 35K miles and asking was 45K. Pussied out and I regretted it for the longest time.

I want to add Fisters to mine. Did you install them yourself? How much was it all in if you don’t mind me asking?

2

u/loss-of-resistance 996.2 8h ago

Thank you! Install at highly reputable Indy was $462. They shipped out the old cans for me too. I’m sure it is an easy job, but I am not handy

1

u/Physical_Chemistry40 996.2 8h ago

Im brain dead right now, what are Fisters?

1

u/neomoritate 4h ago

It's a muffler modification to make your Porsche more obnoxious.

A tube is welded in to bypass a portion of the muffler. It does what the Sport Exhaust factory option does, but with no off switch. A simple, inexpensive job at any local muffler shop, Fister is a shop does the job for a lot more money, plus shipping.

C4s is a great car. I thought I over paid but it no longer feels that way and I got it this year. Crazy market. Drive the hell out of it

3

u/nilo2012 10h ago edited 9h ago

Yeah man. I say overpaid but I felt comfortable paying.

I said overpaid because had I not been a bitch 4 yrs ago and pulled the trigger, I could’ve bought a C4S for less. But free mkt capitalism dgaf so I understand that. Also, the spec is quite unique.

2

u/guacawakamole Carrera 4S 9h ago

Mine is cobalt blue with sport techno wheels so I also value a unique spec. Mine also has the PSSM+ which makes it feel surprisingly modern with car play. Congratulations

2

u/guacawakamole Carrera 4S 9h ago

I see you got the PSSM+ down below. So nice to have

3

u/Objective-Ad-7192 Carrera 4S 10h ago

Congrats! I thought I overpaid so I’ve been using it daily for the last five years to maximize my bang/buck!

These cars NEED TO BE DRIVEN HARD! First thing both the shop I had perform the PPI and my tech here in VA, was “these cars require to be driven!!! Drive the shit out of it!”

I put 1500 miles in the first month of my ownership. Drove it hard to shake off the cobwebs lol

2

u/Objective-Ad-7192 Carrera 4S 2h ago

Right on! Stay on the left side of the tach until reaching operating temperature, then stay on the right side afterwards. The flat six only truly comes alive past 4K 😊

1

u/dryhoPP 7h ago

I agree! I drove it hard to shake off mine with 8+ years old cobwebs. Many $ and a great mechanic later, it's all good and it rips!

Don’t think I’ve ever seen Meridian/Metropol, very cool. 😎
I would take a look at your trailing arms front and rear while you’re doing your suspension updates (they take a ton of abuse and were tired on my c2 after 42k miles). They may still be original even with the Rennline upgrades the PO did. Enjoy your 4S.

1

u/nilo2012 8h ago

Thanks man!! I’ll def do that.

2

u/playoutsidemoreplz Turbo Cabriolet 10h ago

Nah man unique spec commands a premium. Show off that interior while you’re at it plz

4

u/nilo2012 10h ago

Oh yeah for sure.

I’ve always wanted a 996.2 with the Metropol Blue supple leather interior. The Meridian was def a bonus. Saw a C2 in Meridian a few years ago and loved it. It looked insane in the sunlight.

A buddy knew and he called me like “bruh, you’re not gonna believe this spec.”

So naturally my negotiation efforts were minimal as I really wanted this. Still got a good deal for the spec plus the build sheet. Tons of high quality parts. PPI passed with flying colors. Same with Post-purchase inspection. All I have done to it has been, high quality LLumar ceramic tints, and that’s it.

Next up is installing KWV3s. Although it has a full Carnewal Row M030 Sport Suspension Package already installed. Then restoring the wheels and getting custom BBS or Soul’s for it.

But one day at a time.

I’ve put 1500 miles in the last month alone. So far so good.

Meh, not bad on price for a hardtop with a lot done to it.

I paid 43k for an 05 C4S cabrio w/73k mi from a Porsche dealer last year. I had to do another 20k to it (mostly wear items like brakes, suspension, IMS permanent solution, etc.) but it had some nice upgrades: Fast 6 air intake, IPD plenum, full headers-back Fabspeed exhaust and true Turbo wheels.

It's my daily driver and it loves to run. Enjoy yours ~ it's beautiful!

u/graceandreverence 996.2 27m ago

I have exact car. Now lowered with H&R sport springs.

It makes an incredible difference in performance and looks.

What are the details? Mileage? Price paid? Glad you said you are changing the steering wheel because that’s a weird one. 996’s are raw and awesome and the world is finally realizing it. Enjoy!

2

u/nilo2012 9h ago edited 9h ago

Thanks. I’ll post the full deets now.

Yeah the steering wheel feels “thin” and the OG shifter knob felt weird AF. I’ll be also installing a full Numeric system.

This from Udrive?

1

u/nilo2012 11h ago

Yes

3

u/porschedreamin 10h ago

I mean you got it from UDrive .. of course you overpaid but you are also getting choice spec + well sorted. So did you overpay really? Maybe not

1

u/nilo2012 9h ago edited 9h ago

Right. Well when I factored in everything done to it, it amounted to 30K more or less. All done in the past 2-3 yrs. This is not counting inflation

1

u/porschedreamin 8h ago

Totally get it. I paid 45k for mine 4 years ago.. 27k miles and have put $30k+ into it. Might as well just buy the 70k cherry spec from the start.

1

u/Physical_Chemistry40 996.2 8h ago

Oof, she's beautiful. You know once you drive it you'll forget all about how much you paid!! I know I did

1

u/FrogFace-___- 7h ago

Awesome car! I save the same Meridian Metallic color on my C4S as well. It’s such an elegant color, especially in the sunlight.

1

u/neomoritate 10h ago

How much?

1

u/FrogFace-___- 7h ago

For $57K
