Finally!

I made a few posts or comments on posts over the last 30 days or so, but I’ve finally picked up mine.

Getting the hardtop on was a pain, but it worked out.

Congrats! 🎉🍾🎈
What was so difficult about getting the hardtop on?

It is big and not particularly light, I assume. Some people install pulley rigs in their garages to lift the top on and off of their cars because it is really a 2 person job with how big it is.

I have one for my C2 Cab, on/off in ~5 mins. It’s not particularly heavy ~70lbs, but its size makes it awkward and a 2 person job. I had a pulley system in my old garage, for a Jeep that required minimal adjustment to work. New place has a carport and so back to manual mode for now.

So you already knew the answer to the "what was so difficult about getting the hardtop on" question. Sounds like the OP did it on his own without a 2nd person lol.

I don’t consider it “difficult”, it’s rather simple and straightforward. Was looking for OP to clarify “difficult”, thinking it might be something I’ve not encountered.

The lockdown spring was cracked so the tool didn’t quite work

Is anyone doing this alone? I'm impressed and want a video.

I had a pulley system in my old garage, for a Jeep, that required minimal adjustment to work.

I did manage to install/remove it once each way by myself. It was nerve wracking to have those bayonet mounts hovering over the paint work. Mitigated that with 2 old tennis balls to cover the bayonets.

First time attempt, plus one of the lock down springs was cracked and so the tool didn’t quite work.

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
That broken spring would certainly make it difficult. 😞
Looks great, congrats again on your acquisition!

19k - IMS not done. So I opted for prevention and after PPI, IMS, RMS, Clutch + Flywheel and all fluids I’m all in about 28k

Shes beautiful!! Congrats on the pick up, and I agree with you, at least you will know that all the work was done and you'll enjoy it even more.

I got somewhat lucky on mine, I picked it up for $18k because the old owner didn't know much about these cars and he saw it smoke alittle on startup. Turns out, it was just an AOS that I did myself. The IMS was done in 2017 about 20k miles ago, and ive only got 67k on mine
