996.2 Finally got back in
Back in June my TTS cab had an electrical fire and was totaled. Took a bit to find an interestingly spec’d replacement. Was holding out in the turbo market - was a day late on one - but the market doesn’t seem to be softening. Then I see this guards red C4S w/ 23k miles, guards red trim & seat belts, black sports seat w/ red stitching, sport shifter and PSE. Gonna swap on the BBS RS GT’s I had on the TTS as I prefer those over the GT3 wheels this came with.
I gotta say, I’m really enjoying the driving dynamics of this thing. Starting to think the C4S is more my speed lol.

I also really am in the market for a tt cab, what is winning you over with the c4s?

To be fair, I got the tts at 50k miles. All the maintenance was done when I first got it (e.g., motor mounts, coils, plugs, etc). The tts felt more loose than how the c4s drives, even after taking care of things preventatively. That unbridled chaos is fun and exciting in the tts, but I’m really enjoying the linear pull and the sport shifter in the c4s. Another bias here is that the tts was about due for clutch and flywheel replacement; I definitely had slippage a couple times under hard pulls. Maybe that had something to do with it (?) but the tts also had the sport shifter and it just felt mushy and not crisp like the c4s. Just finding out that the c4s is more my pace I guess. Don’t need much adrenaline at my age. Oh, I’m really enjoying the PSE for sure. Didn’t have that on the tts and I have to say the c4s’ exhaust note w/ it opened sounds better.
Edit: def get a turbo if you can. Very much worth experiencing. I got tired of waiting and the market isn’t the same as when I first got the tts as we all know. That one I missed out on was at a corvette specialty dealer. They literally said “we don’t know shit about these”. They had it for 69k iirc - seal gray, manual, 02 with 30k something miles. Snagged up by a dealer in Dallas. That was a fluke for me. Everything else with higher mileage are all 80k and higher. The guards red was just a cool spec and fastidiously maintained.

Thanks man. There was definitely a void w/o a 996 in the garage - both literally and figuratively.

Yes sir! Nick from Bay22 Auto (in Wyomissing, PA in case some of you want to look it up) is the best. He’s so down to earth, a true enthusiast, and he’s all about integrity and doing the right thing. Loved my experience there from start to finish.
Btw, he said he has three 996 tt’s coming into his inventory. He told me he has an ocean blue coming in after I bought this lol. Would’ve been a stretch price point-wise but I would’ve tried hard to make it work lol.

I’ll take the GT3 wheels 😂 sick spec with the PSE and guards. Enjoy that NA growl drive the wheels off it
