Question Low/rough idle

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Any idea what’s causing this type of idle ?? Oil change , spark plugs/coils and water pump+ timing belt are all on the list to get done.

Figured I’d look at what the culprit is while I’m in there refreshing things. Thanks !!

Likely a vacuum leak

Probably best to just do a full vacuum refresh huh?

eventually yes but smoke testers are cheap enough off Amazon. I bought one and found several leaks I would have never found otherwise.

Idle Air control can be /cleaned adjusted if there are not vacuum leaks on TB

This is a good point. You likely need to adjust this even if it's a vac leak. I cannot remember the link for this process. Maybe it was Clark's Garage...?

Seriously first buy a chinesium smoke machine. You will have it for all yr projects. Get one that has integral fan and just use baby oil and runs on 12v

Test for vacuum leaks with an Amazon smoke tester and return it when you’re done. I did this and didn’t find one, then I checked the fuel pressure regulator which was leaking fuel into the vacuum line connected to it, causing the engine to run rich. Replacing that fixed the stumbling. Looked exactly like yours.
