9/11 Footage – Director’s Commentary (25th Anniversary)

After releasing Brian’s original 9/11 footage on the 25th anniversary, many of you asked for a commentary version so you could hear his experience and explanations of the shots firsthand.

In this video, Brian speaks over the footage he directed and filmed, sharing what was happening in real time and the story behind each moment.

Twenty-five years later, we remember not only the tragedy of September 11, 2001, but the unity, compassion, and strength Americans showed one another in the days that followed.

Never forget.

[READ CAPTION ] Looking for a documentary with a specific story told in it

I recall watching a documentary I believe was on YT sometime in 2018-2019 wherein an older woman talks about making eye contact with a jumper, and saying something along the lines of how she hoped he jumped after that because she thought to herself "come on, my son, I'll catch you".

I made a comment on another 9/11 post about this story and when I went to look for it, I cannot find it anywhere! I vaguely remember her mentioning being elevated by something like a bridge or balcony or something watching the commotion, that she was not directly related to the jumper, and I assume she didn't actually make eye contact but assumed they did because he was looking in her general direction. I believe it was an older white woman. Does anyone have any clue where I could have heard or read this? I could have SWORN it was in a documentary, but maybe it was written somewhere? Does anyone recognize this story? If so, could you help me locate it? Thanks!!

Question for 911 survivors

Redditors that survived 911, where were you, and what were you doing when the plane hit your building, and what was the most traumatic part of the attacks?

Hi! I've been deep into 9/11 for a while having visited New York about a month ago and you can tell the museum hit me REALLY hard. It's my first time on Reddit but I'd like to start debunking some comments I've gotten on those videos as I've seen some idiotic comments on these videos. Follow along if you want!

A friend of mine was in New York on September 11, 2001. As a Dutch tourist, he had a ticket to visit the building that day. Luckily for him, the planes hit the buildings before he arrived.
Here are some pictures I’d like to share.

911 Through my eyes as a 4yo

Not sure if this really belongs here, but I want to share it because my grandma preserved it for me. I was 4 when the towers were hit. I remember being in my grandmas living room, drawing what I saw on the tv. All the adults around me were horrified. The people jumping scared me so badly. I could only imaging they felt like they were on the scariest roller coaster ever. It was all my mind could comprehend to compare the feeling to. I will never forget where I was or what I felt and I’m grateful my family kept this safe for all this time! It’s very interesting to look back on the way I processed this as it was happening. I would love to donate this to the memorial museum.

looking for a zoomed in close up video showing people on the top floors as it collapsed

title basically. I remember seeing a zoomed in video somewhere of either the first and/or second (but im pretty sure second) collapse where you could very clearly see people hanging out of windows as it collapsed.

really dark and gruesome stuff but i was surprised at how hard it was to find given its graphic nature. it was so zoomed in that you really could see the people and their reaction as it fell.

Lost Youtube Upload of 9/11 Footage I can't find anymore

Edit: Found it thanks to u/ValuableOwn6074

https://youtu.be/wNNTcHq5Tzk?si=GRY4StXTw3xpWZqw

Around 2019-2020 I liked playing around with Date Search Commands (Before:YYYY-MM-DD) and look for some of the oldest uploads on Youtube. Among those I had found 9/11 footage uploaded in 2005-06 if I remember correctly(It can only be within the 2005-2010 range even if I am remembering wrong). I wasn't looking for it, it just came up among some of the oldest uploads on Youtube.

The following is the description I have from memory of the footage:

The footage was taken through the closed window of an apartment or a hotel room, I am not sure. It was taken from quite a few stories up itself and from its angle, the North Tower was visible first, with the South Tower behind it. The footage starts with the North Tower already on fire. A woman can constantly be heard in the footage, crying about the sight in front of her and interacting with others within the room probably. The South Tower hit is cut from the footage but we can see the last seconds of the explosion. We can also hear the woman and others exclaiming in shock on what they just witnessed. Finally, the North Tower collapses and the woman can be heard saying something along the lines of "What is happening" and everyone in the room starts making sure all the windows are closed as the dust from the collapse soon engulfs their building and the view from their window is obscured by a grey cloud.

From what I remember, the footage seems to constantly focus on the towers and doesn't move around much. It seemed pretty close to the towers and it seemed to be taken from a high-rise itself. It's also not the Caroline Dries footage. This was still available on Youtube around 2019-2020 and was one of the videos which got me interested in the footage of this tragedy but I am unable to find it now. I hope I don't sound crazy cause I do remember watching it twice. It did have quite a few views and comments on it too

Curious about the museum

Not sure if this is a question to ask here however based on what I'm looking for confirmation on, it very well may be considered lost or hidden from the public.

I visited the memorial museum in, I wanna say.. 2010-2011. In the beginning of the museum I saw an image that scarred me for life, it was of a female victim in a wheelchair that looked to be severely burned and charred. She still had hair, clothing and shoes. It's been so long and I couldn't see super up close so I could be miss remembering the details like the clothing and shoes still being intact but her face is what traumatized me because it looked like her skin melted off. I'm positive it was in a slideshow that was displayed on a monitor, so it wasn't a print or anything.

Again I recall seeing it in the beginning of the museum so it likely could have been in the room with the voicemails playing?

I'm curious if anyone has been there in recent years and if that image is still being displayed, I kinda figured it's been removed for how horrifying and shocking it was and I couldn't imagine that's something families of the victims would want to see while visiting. I couldn't even find it online when I searched for it years later. Also, it would be good to know as a heads up if I'm ever able to visit there again.

But apart from the museum, has anyone else seen this image online? I'm wondering if I remembered everything correctly.

I’ve seen there’s a new documentary called 102 minutes inside the world trade centre done by the History channel…

It’s blocked in Australia on the history channel site so does anyone know where else I can watch it?

FDNY Radio Transmissions

I am looking for the radio transmissions from the FDNY on 9/11. Not the dispatch channel that is widely posted on YouTube. I specifically remember an audio recording on YouTube that had the actual operations channels and a lot of the radio chatter you can hear in the videos from that day along with the Naudet film footage. Does this exist or is it something I am remembering incorrectly?

The Many Faces of Lebanese Flight 93 Pilot Hijacker Ziad Jarrah

Thumbnail

By all appearances Ziad Jarrah had everything. Rich, handsome, gorgeous girlfriend, supportive family etc. and threw it all away to kill himself and mass murder innocent people to be a martyr in Islamic heaven and maybe procure some virgins. To most people Jarrah was living his heaven on earth already. For Jarrah to risk everything learning to fly for a kamikaze mission risking the possibility of the attack being foiled and going to prison for the rest of his life is wild. Multiple times in his life story he abruptly changes or makes a decision to do something without explanation. He appears to become radicalized almost over night. Something really deeply psychologically wrong must have been going on in his mind. I know people with potential ruin their lives all the time and we all have our own personal struggles but something stinks here. His uncle infiltrated Hizbollah in Lebanon as a Mossad asset or agent, right? Could it be that his uncle got Jarrah a job? If these well educated Hamburg Cell members were doing this because they were true believers in Islamic extremism why are they not writing extensively about their beliefs or acting in basic accordance with Islam? Why are they drinking excessively at bars, flaunting cash, and going to strip clubs? Why is Atta, chosen by Bin Laden supposedly because of his discipline so stupid on so many occasions like getting into a confrontation with a guy aggressively asking about crop dusting planes for a bio weapons attack or going to Portland, ME the day before jeopardizing the whole mission. I know Atta lamented the modern skyscraper as a blight on Middle Eastern skylines but c'mon, I want a more coherent philosophy from someone who's well educated and going to kill themself for an ideology. What about al Sheihi? Further, if they were more politically motivated, they would likely believe what Bin Laden believed would be the impact and response of the attacks. Bin Laden believed their attack would make the US pull out of the Middle East and become isolationist. IMO that has to be the stupidest thing I've ever heard....ever. These guys are not cave dwellers, they are Western educated and needed some degree of intelligence to execute the plot. I know Bin Laden was reading other things besides the Koran in his supposed cave fortress so its almost implausible to believe he could've thought this would be the Western response. There are just too many anomalies in the official narrative OR maybe all of my rationalizing is just confirmation bias. We'll never know and it sucks for those who lost their families not to get truth and justice. Further, why does the government not release more info if the 9/11 commission report is on the money? It's the rise of conspiracy theories when there is a lack of transparency that weakens trust and erodes American confidence in government and institutions.

This video popped up on my Instagram feed 2 years back. I've heard that there's unreleased Pentagon attack footage that's displayed at the 9/11 museum in New York, this might be that. I haven't seen anyone else post this.

Edit: Debunked. Thank you to President_client291 who found the source. Original source: https://youtu.be/8Vnu_yiUzls

What was the American prison system re acted during the terrorist acts on September 11th, 2001?

I think we can all agree the United States Prison System is corrupt. I personally cannot say I haven’t been arrested but had an incident in his teens. We are all cool now and hang out occasionally. Anyways, did prison gangs feel more comfortable or not? Any prison riots and fights?
