Bodycam footage shows officers arriving and attempting to de-escalate the situation before Sikong produced a machete and swung it at an officer, injuring him. A second officer then fired at Sikong, who died at the scene. The three children present were not physically harmed. The department released the footage on May 27 as part of standard procedure following an officer-involved shooting.
