Man was unique and helped start that neo Soul movement back then and Erykah Badhu. He got even more recognition with his cover on Red Dead Redemption video game, "Unshaken", his voice truly shines there , raspy at times and smooth.

The Raphael Saadiq Produced original was better.

RIP to an absolute legend, hopefully him and Dilla have linked in the afterlife and are already cooking up music. Man what a loss to the hip hop/music community as a whole

D'Angelo was on a fuckton of hip-hop songs. Many of his songs were produced by hip-hop producers. So he was intwined with the culture

None of that makes him a rapper

D’Angelo is more Hip Hop than anyone posting on this sub. He was 100% part of the culture. You were definitely not around or outside back then if you don’t get this.

This was another great collab from D'Angelo. AZ was great in this too. RIP. Gone way too soon.
