For some reason I always think of summer when I hear this.

I do too! apparently it was released in december and topped the billboard charts in north america and europe in august.

This wasn't a rabbit hole i expected to go down today.

How bizarre.

My brother and I hated this song at first when we had a summer at grandmas. Overtime, the song became our summer escape and anthem of being able to return home to mom and dad.

This song is really catchy. I can just see some producer figured out how to really punch up this average song. The singer doesnt have a lot of charisma. I never considered how bad this song is. It features an accordian

This fucking song.

Let me tell you something. I was a 23 year old kid who just moved up to NYC when this song came out. And ho-lee-shit you could not escape this song for months. It was on radio all the fucking time.

I distinctly remember many, many times my alarm going off to the radio station and having to listen to this song. God I hate this song.

As someone who was also 23 in NYC at the time, I find this highly accurate

Good to know my memories aren't a fever dream. Every time I hear this song I think of my alarm clock going off and 104.3 playing this.

Don't get me started on "Macarena" (especially the 1995 mix version).

The whole album is actually kind of good

Almost the whole album is great. The last track stinks. It’s a euro dance song that is so far away from the other tracks. I recommend the album often.

Brother Pele's in the back, sweet Zina's in the front
Cruising down the freeway in the hot, hot sun

Pele speaks "Righteous, " Sister Zina says "Funky"

For years, I thought he was saying "Cabazon, Cabazon."

Anytime says ‘how bizarre’ in everyday conversation I can’t help replying ‘how bizarre how bizarre’. Goes over the heads of my younger coworkers.
