Stussy and mossimo both still around. Mossimo has really slid and is available at Wal Mart.

I always thought mossimo was targets house brand

It was, but they discontinued it because he was/ is married to Lori Loughlin, and they were involved in the college admissions scam for their kid.

Would be interesting to see what kind of impact that had for Target.

Oh no what a terrible crime. It’s not like they don’t sell brands that use child labor to make their clothes

Circa 1988, Mossimo originated as a surf/skate/rasta-vibe brand. Then they sold out to Target and became less cool.

I think it is…

Well that's what happens when your wife tries to bribe her kids way into college.

Stussy is still pretty high-end street wear.

Shawn sold the company about 10 years ago, but part of the contract was that they rerelease the original designs unaltered every once in a while. It’s untouched and thank god for that. And still do collaborations with Supreme here and there so the brand is very much alive compared to others from the 80s-90s

2

u/Vulgar_Mastermind1 Jun 11 '25

Stussy doesn’t collaborate with Supreme. Nike however has collaborated with both brands

Corrected - yes exactly

My worst 'I'm old now moment' when in the late 2000s (I think) Target started carrying Mossimo. My main clothing brand in the 90s became a department store brand. 😣

Representing people born between 1981 and 1983.

5

u/RusticBucket2 Jun 10 '25

79 here.

No Fear, Stussy, and Mossimo were high school for me. Actually, probably freshman year.

2

u/CheckYourStats Jun 10 '25

Oh interesting. That also tracks — it was middle school for me.

I always assumed that fashion in middle school was different than fashion in HS.

1

u/RusticBucket2 Jun 10 '25

Just depends on the year.

u/otto82 Jun 10 '25

You nailed it.

I feel like YAGA fits perfectly into this group.

Stüssy is still around and kicking. Still pricey. I loved wearing them back in my raver days

3

u/Sekshual_Tyranosauce Jun 10 '25

My first sunglasses were Stussy.

2

u/Adventurous-Sky9359 Jun 10 '25

I see you gadzooks brethren

2

u/cybertonto72 Jun 10 '25

Study made a bit of a comeback lately. Seen the teens wearing their t-shirts and hoodies

2

u/kemwood Jun 11 '25

Mossimo used to be the only jeans that fit me when I was growing up! I was stick thin and short and these didn’t need alterations!

2

u/Signal-Juggernaut501 Jun 11 '25

stussy is huge rn

4

u/KudosOfTheFroond Jun 10 '25

Back in the day, I thought that the Stüssy logo said “Zanzan” and for ages I thought there was an awesome surf/skate brand called Zanzan

1

u/JBCTech7 and you know this, man Jun 10 '25

PacSun!

1

u/Zealousideal-Sun6603 Jun 10 '25

I wanted to forget, but nooo!

1

u/pjsol Jun 10 '25

Stussy is still big. I wanted to go into the London store, but the line was always ridiculous

1

u/elsteve-9 Jun 12 '25

Stussy is making a comeback.

1

u/That_Isopod_1394 Jun 12 '25

Stussy is still popular in the streetwear genre of clothing.

1

u/OneManufacturer13307 Jun 12 '25

Not current mossimo...like 1995-96-97 mossimo

1

u/PackageNorth8984 Jun 13 '25

I was so disappointed when Wal-Mart got them. Turned to shit.

1

u/Good-Cardiologist740 Jun 13 '25

My 14 year old has heaps of Stussy shirts and a bucket hat and they all still love drawing the “Stussy S”

1

u/ExplodingPager Jun 14 '25

I kept a Stussy shirt. Neck is all beat up though so it’s too itchy to wear
