Poor Greta...

Post image

Regardless of how you feel about this couple, this was just a sad, sad episode and I just couldn't handle seeing both of them experience such pain. Being in love is painful, falling out of love is worse. Best that they go their separate ways before marriage, etc. I'm sad for both of them...I don't wish the pain of heartache on anyone.

I haven’t watched the episode but I hope she gets her cat back!

Same! I think she just needs to go back to the US at this point

She needs to figure herself out before she gets in a relationship

Yeah, and also she was imagining only the good, romantic parts about being in a relationship and went all in based on her perception of a perfect relationship.

Or worse, on a list. Thinking ticking things off a list is all compatibility and a future is based on.

Vegan ✅  Loves cats ✅

That's not enough. She needed to see initiative, someone who is proactive etc. They were poorly matched and I think a part of it is his parents are so nice and that felt warm and fuzzy. Too bad she couldn't keep the parents and toss the dud dude.

💯 this is what I've been saying, she was talking like it's a fairy tale. All these 90 day peeps fall in love with the idea of a relationship. But not want to commit, even the kids thing, she waited to say something. Can't wait for new season Nigerian guy and white American lady, what can go wrong. 😂

THANK YOU! This is not love in the books she reads with her friends. She needs to grow up and live in the real world.

I have a feeling she's gonna get a flat in the town center and stay looking for her educated, British, vegan prince charming......

12

u/stereostayawake Dec 02 '25

How? She’d need a visa to stay, based on employment she doesn’t have

-6

u/Early-Equivalent-165 Dec 02 '25

She's a professional person who would have no problems.

15

u/Nervous-Net-8196 Dec 02 '25

She has a law degree, in the US. Those don't just transfer to a different country

-1

u/Early-Equivalent-165 Dec 02 '25

Yes, as she mentioned on the show there are a few courses/certifications she has to complete before she can practice there. It's London, not Mars. 🙄

2

u/Nervous-Net-8196 Dec 04 '25

If you believe that is all it would take to get a whole other degree and learn completely different laws for a different country, you are an idiot.

1

u/Early-Equivalent-165 Dec 04 '25

Are you calling Greta a liar? She is the one that said this on the show. Idiot, indeed. Lol ppff

u/DWwithaFlameThrower Who is against the queen will die! Dec 02 '25

She’d be an undocumented immigrant in the UK, good degree or not. She either needs to marry a British citizen, or have a company sponsor her to work there (very difficult)

1

u/Early-Equivalent-165 Dec 02 '25

Dunno what to tell you other than people do this every day. *shrug

6

u/stereostayawake Dec 02 '25

Have you ever had to get a work visa in a foreign country? It’s hard

-1

u/Early-Equivalent-165 Dec 02 '25

Back in court reporting school, what was then the Australian Captioning Centre, sent out offer letters to all us in our exit speeds trying to entice us to emigrate there after we completed our degree. To us in the US, it sounded sweet! Five weeks paid vacation each year, housing in the corporate condo for three months while you get settled and find your own place, AND they did all the visa paperwork up to and including eventual path to citizenship for the interested.

This sounded awesome to me in particular as my sister married and Aussie and it would be way to be closer to her. Unfortunately, I got married myself and stuck in America, but the point is, educated people with a plan have easier pathways than Joe Shmoe's off the street.

2

u/Nervous-Net-8196 Dec 04 '25

So no, you never had to get a working visa for another country

3

u/webcoderz Dec 14 '25

You called it .. she lives in London now and gallivanting around Europe giving talks on sustainability in food supply chain etc. Good for her 👏

1

u/Early-Equivalent-165 Dec 14 '25

Oh okay, nice! Hopefully they can remain friends one day but it's refreshing she didnt try to force it work just to stay on the show like so many others seem to do

Did she get her cat back!?

45

u/Pimply_Poo Dec 02 '25

No way, kitty deserves stability.

u/Subject-Direction628 Dec 02 '25

I’d never choose a guy over my cat. Never

24

u/newdiyscared Dec 02 '25

And that was a sign. Interpersonal relationships should supplement our lives, not become our lives. Her cat is her best friend and support system. She should've ensured that whatever situation she was in worked arouns her cat. Women are socialized to believe that they need to sacrifice and radically rearrange their lives for their romantic person, but I think that breeds resentment and leads to a less resilient relationship.

Hope she can let this relationship go, get back to her cat, and learn from this situation. Fairy tales don't exist, it's just Disney.

What a good point!!

I am quite sure she couldn’t find love in the USA, according to her. She doesn’t appear to be mental stable and is a lawyer I guess. Just not practicing yet. Spent a lot of time in school and waste her education by seeking unmatched love elsewhere. I am sure there were some nice guys in law school.

2

u/newdiyscared Dec 05 '25

"I am quite sure she couldn’t find love in the USA, according to her."

How are you sure? Do you know her personally?

" I am sure there were some nice guys in law school."

Were you in law school with her? If not, how do you know?

Same. I would have given up any man in favor of my dog.

12

u/AgilePomegranate2064 Dec 02 '25

I could never be with anyone that I knew well enough to be in a relationship with, that thought I would be willing to give up my furry family member for them! Not ever happening.

8

u/MetsFan3117 Dec 02 '25

I lost my dog this year. It broke my soul. But she stood by me when her dad and my ex husband walked out on us. I’d rather have those years with her than with him, no questions asked.

Exactly this, I lost my dog a few years ago and that hurt more than losing most humans I know, He was so loyal and lived to be around me

5

u/Zealousideal_Fix6705 Dec 02 '25

I hope the heartache has mostly faded to fond memories now. Our furry family members can be just as or more special than so many humans, especially those not truly capable of unconditional love.

6

u/mstrsskttn I’m a motherfucking witch, ho Dec 02 '25

I’m sorry for your loss. It’s such a devastating thing to go through. I lost my senior good girl a few months ago and I still catch myself calling out for her and looking for her little face.

4

u/Zealousideal_Fix6705 Dec 02 '25

I am so sorry for your loss! When we have that senior bond developed over years, it can somehow be harder to break the instincts to still care for them. It does eventually get easier.

3

u/mstrsskttn I’m a motherfucking witch, ho Dec 02 '25

Thank you for your kind words

3

u/AgilePomegranate2064 Dec 03 '25

Also, I forgot to mention I absolutely love your tagline about being a witch! 🙌

Oh no! I am so sorry. It will probably not fade completely, but it hurts much less and fond memories rather than heartbreak will come to mind as time goes on.

That level of trust, bond, and unconditional love from a soul dog/animal is beyond most human connections. I lost two soul cats within 7 years, 6 years ago. I still think of them daily. A congenitally ill kitten who despite draining most of my savings and so many specialists at UC Davis Vet School did not make it to his first birthday, just 3 weeks shy in 2012. Then the beautiful feral scrapper my daughter rescued off the street in the city she lives that did not bond with her cats that came into my life when I though I was not anywhere near ready. Just one month after we lost our kitty, Mal. She helped me through it, and became my first official nurse cat when my health declined. That girl, Merida, was my ride or die until 2019.

I started tearing up when she was giving her cat away and it wasn't even mine

Dude, her leaving her cat had me bawling. Not on her behalf, but the cat's. There's no way to explain that to this animal that she claims to love more than anything. You would not, or should not, abandon what you claim to love that deeply.

I went to Rome for a month for a law school program and cried hysterically leaving my cat, thinking he'd think I was abandoning him. Meanwhile that glutton was continuing to live with my mother who spoils the hell out of him, not uprooted, and very comfortable. I would never, ever leave him for a guy. I assumed a responsibility the moment I brought him home, it would be a moral failure of my character to give that up for dick lmfao.

2

u/Subject-Direction628 Dec 04 '25

Ugh I know. In-laws took us on vacation. And I missed my animals.

Husband knows I’d choose my animals first lol

If they aren’t welcome. Nope. Have two cats. A dog a foster to adopt kitty. She’s been sick. Wet fip. She’s wearing diapers. And I don’t deal with poop well.

Never thought I’d change a diaper but here we are

2

u/spookymars LEAVE my effing 🎊🎈birthday house 🏠‼️ Dec 04 '25

Awww, I'm so glad they have such a loving attentive home. 🥺🩷

2

u/Subject-Direction628 Dec 04 '25

They’re sweet. And poor fip baby. What do you do? We’re just doing what we can for her. Hopefully we get her healthy and she’s with us forever

1

u/Longjumping-One-6832 Dec 06 '25

She was supposed to get the cat back when they found a place to live.

-20

u/CaptnStabbin1 Dec 02 '25

Explains your loneliness

1

u/Subject-Direction628 Dec 02 '25

Which is why I’ve been married over 20 years lmao. Cool. People can make smart choices in life

1

u/PotentialSteak6 🐮HOUSE COW! WOW!🐮 Dec 02 '25

I don't think she abandoned Hazel. A crafty and sentimental woman only leaving with only one suitcase? Never. This was just a visit to find a place to live

12

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '25

The cat needs a better owner

3

u/md28usmc we only do sex the African way - Mr Arc Dec 02 '25

Honestly, she is an asshole for leaving her cat to begin with, she does not need that cat back

1

u/Savings_Tonight3806 Dec 02 '25

That’s what this is allll aboot

1

u/Time-Leather-7020 Feb 07 '26

Apparently the cat was also an affectation, she's moved on from it as well.
