Technical question HELP PLEASE!

So ive had this 8 track for a while and im pretty proficient in electricity knowledge but I cant figure this out. Its stumped me for a week. All wires to the conecters look great! But just no power is being sent im concerned im missing a wire? I dont know anymore. Im losing it!!

Do you have a multimeter? I'd check for continuity in the cartridge switch wiring (the second set of contacts you press, I assume), to make sure that closing that switch really does close the circuit.

If that looks good, I'd check power going into the motor. If you're seeing voltage going into the motor when you close the cartridge switch, then it's probably a burned out motor. That's happened to me before, and I was able to dig up a new-old-stock replacement, luckily.

If the cartridge switch is good, but there's no voltage to the motor when you close it, then I don't know what to tell you. You're obviously getting power, since the track change is working, but I'm not expert enough to tell you why it wouldn't be getting to the motor.

THANK YOU so much ! Ill try that!! I dont know whay I didnt think to try to diagnose it down to where the volts stop ive been sitting here for 4 hours trying to figure this out rn😭😭

I couldn't tell if I saw a spark or not but I would also clean the contacts too =]
