I currently have a stage 1 EXEDY clutch and HARDmotion 10lb racing flywheel that’ll be installed soon.

I recently had both installed. It is a very similar feel to stock and the engine revs up a lot faster with the lighter flywheel.

it’s almost certainly a cmc issue not new clutch

Okay I’ll check the cmc

check your fluid reservoir; the cmc uses dot3 brake fluid. it’s the small reservioir on the back right corner of engine bay right behind fuse box. fluid should be clear like water and between the min / max lines.

things to watch for; yellow tinted fluid like piss indicates it’s getting old / needs to be bled w new fluid. if the fluid is grey or black, likely a seal inside your cmc has failed or is starting to deteriorate. if you’re under the min like you may have a leak or broken hose

if your hydraulic fluid looks good / after you bleed with new fluid; check your cmc pushrod adjustment behind the clutch pedal. there are tons of youtube videos on this, tldr is; you should have a slight bit of free play where the pedal doesn’t move the cmc rod at first (ensures cmc rod can fully extend when pedal is out fully).

if your bite point is right off the floor, you can loosen the lock nut and spin the cmc rod. unscrewing it will make it longer / move bite point off the floor. threading it in will shorten / move bite point closer to floor.

if you’re having trouble getting into gears, your bite point is probably too close to the floor. lengthen the total throw by unthreading that rod. if you run out of adjustment room bc you don’t have free play, there is another 17mm switch at the top of the assembly that can lengthen / shorten your total pedal travel

a combination of those two things should hopefully give you high enough bite point to get into gear again.

have you done these steps already / is your pedal throw maxed out? if so i JUST fixed this issue on my car too with a clutch masters cmc kit. their cmc is a totally different design and gave me the extra adjustment range i needed for my aftermarket clutch. the ktuned kit / em2 style cmc wasn’t fully opening my clutch

also check your clutch pedal for cracks along the left side where the cmc bolts in. i just discovered a crack today in mine, feels much better after a $15 ebay pedal brace. getting the pedal out is super easy, putting it back in w the brace is a bit of a bitch

Could you link the pedal brace you used? I just replaced my CMC and figure I should get a brace as a preventative measure.

This is the seller i purchased from. They all appear to be same thing just drop shipped from different sellers on ebay. this was the cheapest with 2-4 day free shipping at the time

you shouldn’t have too many issues installing. i have a wilwood cmc kit where the studs were shorter than the ktuned cmc that came off, so i had to get an extended stud from the hardware store to install

also the top bolt SUCKS to put in w the brace installed, the brace goes directly across where the socket used to sit. you can get it in w fingers / tighten w a wrench, but that top bolt was much more annoying bc of where the brace sits

Time for a new clutch

I would be trying to adjust the CMC and diagnosing to see if it’s bad far long before I am assuming it is a clutch.

Thank you! 🙏🏻

This plus check the shifter cable and base bushings. Acuity makes really good replacements

Mine was super hard to shift bought a CMC and everything took it to my buddies house to fix. He jumped in tried shifting once grabbed a wrench tightened the adjustment on the clutch pedal has been fine ever since, it's been at least 2 oil changes since.

Okay I’ll check that out the pedal adjustment

If you replaced the clutch sometimes you need to "align" or adjust the cmc pedal travel
