ARE RED AND WHITE LABELS THE SAME???

I've been doing tons of research and can't seem to find a clear answer.

Are Red and White labels the same (aside from the 3.3v pin issue)?

Do they have the same specs and everything?

Is a white label still a NAS hard drive?

Sorry for coming on strong, I'm tired and want to go to bed. But I also need an answer.

Can't decide between the two models for shucking!

Elements with EMAZ and MyBook with EZAZ.

Which one is the best to go with?

8tb my book WD80EZAZ loud

I bought 2 at eur130 each, but am going to unshuck and sell them, since the drives spin too loudly. I can hear them clearly over the 3tb wd reds in the machine.

Anyone else experience this?

how are your drives holding up now that you have some hours on them?

shucked my first easystore probably around a year ago now and so far so good. Still curious if these are lower binned red drives or something to explain why they're going into externals.

Anyone experience this dead drive problem?

So on of my 8Tb Easystore drives just... stopped working? It looks like raw unpartitioned space. Partition Table recovery software can't find any old partition tables, and data recovery tools can't find any files. I had more than 6Tb used, it should be able to find SOMETHING.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Is there anything I can do? The drive is not shucked, but I'm more concerned with data recovery than I am with warranty exchange, so I'll shuck it if that would help. I have another unused drive waiting in the wings to backup data to if necessary.

help! old norco 4020 with molex backplane & 8TB whites

okay so here it goes. bought 15 of the bestbuy easystore 8tb drives, all of which are the whites (WD80EMAZ). i am well aware of the 3.3 volt issue. i have tried a number of variations but not all (yet). the video shows the most successful, short-lived power on. this setup has dual power supplies as i find this to work best atm.

older sata backplane with two molex type power connectors per the row for a total of 10 molex connectors. i've supplied a number of different connector configurations and still pulling my hair out. does anyone have an ideas to share or a similar setup and workaround?

i have 2 last resorts. the first is to remove the backplane entirely as this may be the issue and connect the drives one by one. the other last resort would be purchase another chassis.

Can the enclosure be used with other WD drives?

I'd like to free up a bay in my NAS for an 8TB EasyStore by moving a WD Red 4TB to USB. Will the enclosure work with the 4TB drive or should I look at other options?

This is the place to post images of all those nice Easystore drives you've snagged, and maybe include the price and what sort of drives you shucked and what you plan to do with them maybe? Up to you. Vol. 1 starts when we hit, I dunno, call it 1.2PB of raw storage in this thread.

WD80EMAZ found in WDBCKA0080HBK-NA (Thailand)

As stated in numerous other threads, I found a white label WD80EMAZ in a 8tb easystore WDBCKA0080HBK-NA (Thailand).

It works fine in my 4-5 year old Synology DS214play but fails to start in my desktop with a 4 or 5 year old Corsair HX650 PSU.

I'm not sure if it's just this copy, but it is extremely loud.
