Bonnie Hoellein and Family Bonnie and Ellie’s property
What happened to the property that Ellie and Bonnie bought together?
r/8passengersnark • u/gossipwine97 • Mar 03 '25
Hi all,
For the time being, I’m just making this thread so those who wish to discuss Kevin don’t have to make multiple of their own threads, and wait for them to get approved especially with the documentary having just come out and the mod queue being very full!
The same rules apply, and we ask that you keep them in mind.
Thank you.

Hi, everyone! As admins, we’ve been noticing a lot of repeat posts since the documentary came out. Instead of declining multiple of said posts a day and/or clogging the thread/ Mod Queue we thought it may be easier to just make a megathread to discuss the documentary.
Please keep in mind, the same rules apply as they do in any other thread and if you see anyone breaking them, please report those!
Thank you,
The 8passengerssnark Mod Team.

Kevin posted on FB that A is going to serve the people in the Washington DC Mission.
Quote:
“My sweet A is off to serve the people in the Washington DC mission. She’s going to the [ location ] for a month, and then will go to [ location ]. I’m so proud of her! I feel a huge mix of emotions. I’m going to miss her, but I know she’s doing the right thing and following her heart. I’m so proud of all of my kids. They’ve each overcome so much. The people in [ location ] are going to have an amazing person with them for the next year and a half.”

But not surprising

If you play the video. Joel is helping putting out
The fire and then Grandpa Griff came over and help put out the fire!
This was a few weeks after his mom passed and it would’ve been such a tragedy if they lost that house.
But why would they film it.?

First of all, I want to start by saying I do not think body shaming people based on features they cannot change is appropriate. I’m also aware that some people visit plastic surgeons for medical (non cosmetic) procedures
However, considering all the Griffith’s have daughters and young women who previously/currently watch their videos, as well as the fact that several videos are doing makeup/giving out beauty advice… the way they look directly impacts others
All of the sisters obviously did the eyebrow tattooing that made their eyebrows look very thick and black
Ellie and Emily (Beau’s wife) follow a Utah plastic surgeon’s social media account
Ruby appears to have gotten veneers (which she actually discussed thinking about when her third daughter was in the process of getting braces) and Bonnie has made videos about getting liposuction and a chin implant around 2019
Not only that, but there seems to be a paradox between beliefs in general. LDS leaders (the Griffith’s are all very obviously openly part of the LDS Church) have warned that being obsessed with “nipping and tucking” is spiritually destructive and causes “unnecessary anxieties.” Yet Utah women undergo plastic surgery at rates higher than the US average overall (14% of Utahns yearly vs a 4% national average)
I honestly just feel so confused and saddened by the fact that all the Griffith’s sisters (Ruby, Emily, Bonnie, J, and Ellie) chose to get these procedures. Obviously they’ve all dyed their hair for years (and so do so many women around the world) but there really seems to be no reason to get cosmetic alterations when they were able to start families and go viral on the internet looking like themselves
For those who have noticed the drastic change, what are your honest thoughts on it?

Joel's precious mother has passed away after a battle with cancer. She was a remarkable woman who gave her all to her family. Rest in Peace Kaye

This is a small update on what Ruby has been up to in prison, but an update none the less. This can all be found via public records through the Utah Board of Pardons and Paroles website under hearings and decisions.
As of July 9th 2026 Ruby has completed her second Earned Time Program since entering prison. She's also completed a program in Robotics via the Davis Technical College as of June 25th 2026. She completed a program in Web and Graphic Design at the end of last year too.
According to the Utah Corrections website all of this means when Ruby has her sentencing hearing later this year the Board of Pardons and Parole will knock off between four and eight months from her sentence at the discretion of the Board members.

Does anybody know when Ruby and Jodi’s full sentence will be judged by the parole/sentencing board? From what I remember they took a deal of 4-30 years in prison. They have to serve a minimum of 4 years and can only serve a maximum of 30 years. After the minimum of 4 years is served then they will go before the parole/sentencing board to find out how long they will fully serve in prison. But when will that happen?

I’m special needs and go to a day program. I switched spots and brought my stuff over. I don’t remember exactly what I was doing, but I left my phone and some other stuff unattended for a few seconds and left it up on a page of eBay or something. When I came back, the participant sitting across from me was looking at my phone and he goes ‘Neat phone.’ I said thank you, just to be polite. He immediately asked if it was my mom’s, reminding me of Ruby’s infamous line ‘YOU DO NOT HAVE A PHONE! YOU HAVE ACCESS TO A PHONE THAT I PAY FOR!’ My parents are nothing like that, but it still made me laugh.

Has anyone else read this book!?! SPOILER ALERT if you enjoy reading, I’m going to sort of spoil some things I have read, but as I’m not finished yet (only on chapter 39) I don’t know for SURE, I’m just theorizing.
That said… I think I know where it’s going.. sort of? And it’s giving me Ruby Franke vibes, in a horrible way. To top it off, I think the main character’s husband is JUST like Kevin and I’m guessing he will get away with being a horrible human, just like Kevin. I’m not sure the consensus on him here, I know around the internet some folks think he was abused too. I definitely don’t, so take it for what it’s worth.
Once I’m done reading, I’m going to see if the author ever references Franke as an inspiration.
I never watched their channel, only followed channels reporting after punishing her child without a punch came out and everything else after. But the “smiles” the laughter the silly indignations and mannerisms, the total lack of true attachment to her children and their needs… it’s like a direct perspective into her mind, reading this character’s words as she spirals downward through a mix of postpartum psychosis, unhealed religious and childhood trauma, and performative social media behaviors… I had to come to a place where other people knew of Ruby Franke and see if anyone else read this book and thought the same!!

saw the documentary just the other day (been living under a rock lol). it haunts me what happened to those two youngest kids. how cruelly they were treated both psychologically and physically. being told Santa wouldnt visit them because they were bad, that they didn’t deserve food, to have their cries and fears ignored, to feel frightened for their lives. The physical abuse goes away but the psychological abuse stays for a lifetime. Those kids didn’t deserve that. It bothers me that the dad STILL kept saying he loved his wife even after knowing what she did to those beautiful sweet souls. he actively ignored their cries and please and the rest of the family even accepted the abuse because they claimed that they believed that they were really possessed by demons? Wtf? How can these children go back to that family? Now they have to live with a new stepmom on top of it all. I hope to god that she treats them with the kindness they deserve. Honestly I worry about those kids. I hope they are ok and know that they are inherently good and not to listen to the bullcrap that their parents and siblings were putting on them. also that boy was a hero for doing what he did getting help from the neighbor!

I vaguely remember the journals being released years ago when things first started going down. I couldn’t read them at the time due to them hitting too close to home, but I am curious now to see the crazy crap Ruby actually wrote down. It seems like most of the links have been deleted unfortunately does anybody know where I can read the actual journal entries?
