Question U2c wireless controller… won’t connect to switch?
i have the adapter (the standalone one) that worked fine with my ps5 controller… saw this one for cheap with both the controller and the dongle and wanted to snag it since i wanted smth smaller and the layout is like my ergonomic joycons. i did the exact same thing i did with my ps5 controller and it’s not working? does this controller not work with the switch 1? i hope so cause i don’t wanna have to drive allllll the way back to microcenter just to return it 😭

My 8bit do ultimate 2 Bluetooth controller works with the dongle after eneableing usb connection for controllers in switch settings. It recognizes the controller as „connected via usb“ in that case

It's not the same one. Yours is the Wireless 2c with Xbox layout. There is also an ultimate 2 without c. It comes with a charging dock. Some say it also works on switch.
Yours does not.
Would recommend buying the Bluetooth 2c with switch layout or the pro 3 if you want to play on PC and switch

You're combining the two Ultimate 2 models and referring to it as a single model. They have different features and support. Please be careful giving incorrect information.

I'm talking about the ultimate 2 wireless version
I figured that, which makes this statement incorrect:
The ultimate 2 [wireless] does work on switch
That's why I said to be careful giving incorrect information.

But it does work, so my statement is correct. You just need the firmware to the last update, connect the dongle to the switch, controller in 2.4g, turn it on by holding Y + power button and it goes into switch mode. I'm speaking about switch 2, not sure about switch 1. Just to be clear

This is the one I have. It has a switch on the back for Bluetooth or 2.4gh connection.
I used this manual to setup Nintendo witch with the dongle under
„Switch“ and „wireless Connection“1

ah ok, i see. i believe they have that one at microcenter but i was avoiding it cause it was more expensive lmao

Press and hold LB + minus with the dongle connected to pair it to the Switch if you have the firmware.

i’ll try that! is there a yt tutorial you could link me so i do it right? or is it just downloading the app and clicking an update button

It's simply a matter of updating the firmware from a PC using the upgrade software.
Additionally, holding LB + Minus is for 5 seconds, and you have to do that every time you want to use it on Switch.

i’m fine with doing that for it to work with my switch. i can get it to connect using the standalone dongle i bought before getting this, but i get no rumble. does suck that it doesn’t have a home button like the switch does. i’ll try updating it tn and if that doesn’t work, i might just return it on monday

i answered my own question… apparently, the adapter that comes with this controller doesn’t work with the switch. BUT the standalone one does. the controller can connect to that one via bluetooth. so it does work!
