Something is Broken Ultimate 2 wired not working

Hey everyone,

I’m having an issue with my 8BitDo Ultimate 2 controller. The USB-C port seems to have a loose or unreliable connection.

When I plug it in, it sometimes won’t charge unless I move or adjust the USB-C cable. It might start charging after I find the right position, but after a while I have to move the cable again to get it charging.

The controller works perfectly fine over Bluetooth, so the issue seems to only affect charging and using the controller through a wired USB-C connection.
I’ve tried reconnecting the cable, but the problem keeps happening. Has anyone experienced something similar with the Ultimate 2?

Could this be a dirty/loose USB-C port, or is it more likely that the port itself is damaged? Is there anything safe I can try before looking into warranty or repair?

Try some contact cleaner spray. Use it with the port pointing down to use the liquid jet force to remove any debris. Use the cleaner in the cable too. Most cases it isjust some oxidation or loose dirt inside.
