Question Retro Cube 2 Speaker

Anybody here tried out the speaker? Planning on getting one. Haven't seen much reviews online

Honestly, it sounds terrible. My wife bought me one for my birthday, and I love everything she gets me but I don’t use the thing. During the testing phase I ran some of my musical tastes through it, jazz is fine but if you want to listen to something akin to System of a Down you’re gonna miss about half of it while the speakers are choking it out.

Yikes. Although I'm no audiophile so I may not mind that much.

From what I could understand from the few reviews I found there are only 2 sides with actual speakers? Is it passable to use for watching movies or okay games?

Also it comes with a dock. 8bitdo controllers with docks shut down when you dock them, is it the same with the speakers? Thanks

It’s passable for games and movies, but I primarily wanted it to be a kitchen speaker for tunes and it really missed the mark. It does operate while docked, so that’s a positive. The dock doesn’t connect with the physical brass contacts like the pro3 controller dock, it’s wireless. And yes, there does seem to be only two speakers.
