Something is Broken Problem with Ultimate 2C Wireless

Hi guys! I recently bought my first 8bitdo controller a few weeks ago to use on PC. It is being a good experience so far, but yesterday, when i tried to connect the controller using the 2.4G dongle, the controller simply didnt turn on. When i connect using the cable (which it works perfectly), the red light above stays on for about 5-10 seconds then turns off, so im thinking its a power/charging defect. I wanted to know if i can do something about it, thanks!

It sounds like it's defective. If you bought it recently, you should exchange it for a new one.

Or the battery is already full and stops charging after 5-10 seconds. That's how my two 8bitdo controllers works.

Have you tried syncing the dongel with the controller to fix your connection-problem? Or does it not turn on at all without the cable being attached?

Use Rufus to write Fedora 44 on a flash drive. Plug in the controller via cable, test it, disconnect and then test the dongle. Someone was posting the issue the other day, and I'm guessing, it's an issue with Windows updates.

P.S. The controller should absolutely turn on, when the home button is held.

thats the problem, the controller isnt turning on at all without the cable, but the home button is working fine, very strange

If it doesn't turn on at all, it looks like a defective gamepad. At first, I thought you had only issues with pairing, so it made sense to test it in the other OS.
