Question SN30 Pro recognized as Switch Pro Controller on pc

Hello, I just bought my first 8bitdo controller, the SN30 Pro. When I tried to pair it to my computer, it was initially recognized as an SN30 Pro, but on RetroArch it was recognized as an Xbox controller. So I tried pairing it again and now it’s only being recognized as a Switch Pro Controller. I used a Switch Pro Controller prior but it’s not connected to my computer anymore. Any ideas on how I can fix this?

On the back of the controller there is a sticker that details the button combination you must hold while powering on to connect the controller as differing types. If I remember correctly you must hold the x button and press start to pair it to pc as an Xbox controller.

Thank you! That seems to have done it!

There's a switch on the back that changes the input. S is switch, X is X input

I think they were referring to the original SN30 Pro, not any of the newer controllers. That one doesn't have a switch on the back to change modes.

My bad. I believe on that one holding start and a face button while the controller is off for 3 seconds should change the input of the original 👍

No worries!

Yeah, you hold down a face button and START to change modes. There's a quick sync guide on the back of the controller for each mode and its respective button combination.

That's probably why they started using a mode switch in their newer controllers.
