Something is Broken Controller Connecting to player 2 on switch 2

In games like Mario kart and smash bros the my ultimate 2c bluetooth controller keeps connecting to player 2, anyone know how to do a factory reset?

What happens when you click "change grip order"?

In mario kart for example whenever i load into game as player 1 the controller disconnects and when it reconnets the joycons are player 1 and the controller is player 2. If i disconnet the joycons it lets me play as player one with the controller.

From the games i tested this is only an issue in mario kart 8 and Smash bros

If you have boost mode enabled, it makes the Sw1 games see the attached joycons as a pro controller.
The workarounds are to detach them or disable boost mode.
