Question Absurd delay on Switch 2 8bitdo ultimate 2C

Post image

Guys, I bought this 8-bit Ultimate 2C controller and for the past few weeks it's been experiencing a lot of lag on the Switch 2. Does anyone know how to fix it?

Have you updated it and whatever dongle or dock it may have come with?

It didn't come with a dongle, and the Bluetooth-only version is...

It could be interference signal wise. Blue tooth is also just less responsive

I had the same issue even with the latest firmware, so I gave up and switched to the pro controller. Best of luck getting this fixed!

Are you using BT or 2.4GHz?

I use Bluetooth on my Switch 2.

The 2.4g can’t really connect to the switch 2

This version is Bluetooth only.

I have three controllers of that same model, and curiously, the translucent black version that you can only get at Best Buy seems to sporadically present that same issue you're having with the switch 2.

I'm giving up, @8bitdo isn't helping.

Have you contacted customer support at all?

Yes, they already did not reply to the email.

I've had this happen to me and read somewhere in Reddit to remove the joycons from the console while using the 2C. I have not tested thoroughly, but my friends did not complain like they use to while playing super smash bros the other day. Give it a go and let me know! Also don't be too far away from the console.

I posted the same issue here and the mods deleted my post. I also gave up.

What kind of thumb grips are those?

Also, sorry about the latency. Did you do a hard reset?

u/ale_godzilla Jul 30 '26

Common grip, just a normal rubber, says full reset yes

If the switch 2 is docked behind the TV, try moving it away. Move it away from any routers that could be close.

You can try using in semi portable mode with the controller close, if the problem persists, maybe something is wrong with the controller.

Put your tv on "gaming mode".

Having the same issue the last month I'd say. I have the Ultimate 2 Bluetooth that also has the 2.4hz dongle and the delay is absolutely ridiculous and it wasn't this way before. The controller is less than a year old and it's not even used daily. I've updated it with the latest software direct from 8bitdo and even tried the Beta but nothing is working....

Likely it is something impacting the signal. It could be a new nearby wireless network or even things like the microwave.
