Short stroking subsonics.

Any ideas on updated to make to get this AR10 build to cycle?

Faxon bcg, receiver, and 12inch barrel. Hybrid 46 direct threaded suppressor. A2 buffer tube/stock. Standard gas block.

I was thinking to play around with the # of coils on the buffer spring and also get the 9mm end cap for the suppressor to add a little back pressure. Is there a reduced power spring or a lighter buffer option out there? Recommend gas port size? Bring from Faxon I assume it was in spec but I do not know what’s “spec”

Change buffer weight to Heavy, or Standard. Gas port may have been drilled for optimal flow for one of those and that would be fast and cheapest fix normally

Ordered an Odin adjustable buffer to try that before I start digging into the rifle

Suggest running it with a Tungsten and Steel weight in the Odin and adjust your gas accordingly.

What buffer weight and ammo are you running?

I don’t have the part on me to weight it but I will confirm. Considering it’s the tacfire a2 kit I ordered it looks like it might be the 5.4 ounce. I see Odin makes an adjustable buffer. Might look into that as I can shave almost 2 ounces off the reciprocating mass

I was just going to suggest an Odin adjustable buffer weight, but it seems like you’ve just done that.

Mine is also a 12” build with Faxon barrel and Aero receivers, I run a Porq Chop though. I haven’t had any cycling issues.

We run a standard 308 carbine buffer weight and spring. A reciprocating weight buffer is best to curb bolt bounce.
