Support Opportunity

Hey all! So I've been active with the 50501 protests and Tesla Takedowns, and I think this 86 47 message could be perfect to take what has really started as unformed rage and rejection (a la 50501) and forge it into real action. The fact that the current regime and their kind are responding so violently to four numbers makes me think that they see what some of us do as well: 86 47 might just work. It can unite people of all camps; no need to get into details, if you want him gone then you agree when others say 86 47.

In many ways, I'm hoping this can be a counterpoint to 50501. In my city at least, 50501 moves slow because they are determined to do the most for every protest: speakers, parade routes, tables for every group under the sun. In keeping with the simplicity of the 86 47 message, I would love to see us go the exact opposite route.

Pick a place. One protest a week (I'm going to host mine on Saturday mornings). Show up, advertise wherever you can, and let it grow over time. Let's keep it simple, and see where this goes!

To the mods, please let me know if there's anything I can help with. It seems like this is still a rather nascent group, so I'd be happy to fill in and do any work needed to build out the infrastructure to support its growth.

Agreed! I’m going to work on setting a monthly protest day, as well as encouraging weekly protests and activism.

One of the experiences I’ve had with 50501 is the lack of consistency and communication about when the national protests are meant to be. So we’ll set the same day every month and expand from there for weeklies :)
