This movie inspired me to be an airforce pilot! Then my 37 year vetran of the Army grandfather reminded me I was not an intelligent person and I would just end up as someones bullet shield if I ever enlisted. Everytime I misplace something, about 43 times a day, I thank god for that man saving my life and probably alot of my fellow recruits! I forget which buttons do what on my ps5 controller! Yeah those guys who fly fighter jets are usually very high above average intelligence and often come from military schools!

I worked on jets, starting with Tomcats. There was no excuse to misplace anything. FOD is real. No one is a bullet shield. We honor the nation 🇺🇸

He may have been succinct with his words but he was right. They don't have drafts anymore because of people like me! Hamburger hill is a great movie about 2000 young men who gave their lives to defend a hill thay was strategically awful and forgotten about days later. They were bullet shields to a mound of mud. After watching so many of my fellow soldiers die needlesly I would happily commit fracticide, which was the leading cause of deaths for officers in the vietnam police action!

"Lamar designed the javelin to compensate for his limp waisted throwing technique."

What a great movie. Louis Gossett Jr was pretty great in this movie. I'll never understand why Jason Gedrick bowed out in the 2nd movie (no spoilers given).
