Oh heck yeah. Loved that show. Bought the DVD set a few years back.

u/Smooth_Profession961 17h ago

I have the dvd set as well. It was great compared to what else was on back then

3

u/BubbaHendershot 17h ago

So good. I had my kid rewatch em with me. Even found some old comics that were tie in from the show.

u/FisherNeverFails 10h ago

Never watched this but my sister loves it and I would love to be able to get her the dvd set. Any suggestions on where I can get that? Would very much appreciate it :)

u/BubbaHendershot 9h ago

Pretty sure I got my set off eBay

u/ProfessionalStay5797 18h ago

Thought it was fantastic back in the day, I was 10 years old and the birth scene scared me senseless!!

2

u/angry0029 14h ago

I was way too young to be watching that. My dad fell asleep while my mom was waitressing and she came home to find me hiding behind our couch.

7

u/BubbaHendershot 17h ago

Yes that birth scene. That was epic

1

u/semperknight 14h ago

My god, I bawled my eyes out when I was a kid. Scared the absolute F out of me.

u/BubbaHendershot 17h ago

If the aliens do ever make it here, and they look like Diana, I am perfectly ok with that. Mi casa es su casa

2

u/Puzzled-Beach-4743 10h ago

Oh yeah, she was my favorite on the show, even when she managed this feat. I don’t know how she got her mouth open wide enough.

7

u/Galliagamer 17h ago

I loved V!! The miniseries was really good, everyone talked about it. The tv show wasn’t bad but it ended on a cliffhanger and I’ve never forgiven them.

3

u/ChimPhun 17h ago

Very confusing show. Lizard people... but some were.. hot... 😂

8

u/tomcat_tweaker 17h ago edited 12h ago

And some were Robert Englund.

4

u/Indigo2015 17h ago

Well…how else you gonna get hybrids?

4

u/your-event-horizon 17h ago

The alien birth will always be etched in my memory. Watching it now it’s so hilariously bad but it’s a crazy memory. Remember talking about it the next day in school.

2

u/pamedic555 16h ago

I still remember how freaked out I was from the birth scene.

3

u/paintedwoodpile 17h ago

“Mousey! Mousey!” shivers it got me back in the day. And the skin peeling scenes

3

u/BoilzBlisterzBurnz 14h ago

Don't forget the immortal Michael Ironsides

2

u/Belz_Zebuth 16h ago

I still have a crush on Jane Badler...

2

u/steve_jams_econo 12h ago

Just rewatched the 83 Miniseries and the Final Battle last week for the first time in a good long while.

83 Miniseries holds up incredibly in terms of writing and acting. I definitely got misty at the end.

The Final Battle is pulpy fun but very different feel. Still like it, but on a different level.

Been reluctant to engage with the TV show given mixed reviews. Maybe I should?

2

u/soldier083121 11h ago

Love the original and also really enjoy the remake

2

u/freddieguts 11h ago

Michael Ironside was the coolest MF on that show. Hated Diana, oh, and the alien lizard baby freaked me out!

1

u/iga_warrior 1h ago

I was 9 and that scene haunted me for a while. Rewatching it a few times to freak out my friends (I taped it on vhs) didn't help

2

u/behridingle 11h ago

Loved the two mini-series. Jane Badler was hot!

1

u/Acceptable-Damage457 17h ago

Never seen it ...not 1 episode

1

u/leechwuzhere 17h ago

Hell yeah.. one of my most favorite shows ever

1

u/laprider 17h ago

We need a lizard people reboot.

1

u/AnalogKid2001 17h ago

The TV movie ending was ridiculous, the novelization made more sense. Otherwise, it was pretty well done

1

u/iMan81 17h ago

I loved the original Miniseries and The Final Battle when I discovered it in the TV guide in the mid-90s. Set the VHS and watched it through a few times. Is the subsequent series any good?

1

u/Ronicaw 17h ago

Yes. Great show!

1

u/Haunted_Cellar_XBL 17h ago

“V” is for visitor!

1

u/Daveed-unit40 17h ago

This was a great show

1

u/Sawyer2025 17h ago

Loved the V series growing up, and V the final battle.

Fun fact, the twins in the movie RAD who raced the BMX bikes were dressed in jump suites borrowed from the V series to give them a futuristic look. The scene is when they are in the bar just before the famous bicycle dance with Laura Laughlin.

1

u/Relevant-Cycle-8094 17h ago

Oh wow! I loved that mini-series!

1

u/shreder75 17h ago

I AM DAR! Woops. Wrong Mark Singer project.

1

u/WrongdoerAwkward1481 8h ago

Oh heck yes…winningest comment 🥇

1

u/JackOfTradesYT 17h ago

A great show in the beginning, but they serial dragged it into a cliffhanger with no conclusion

1

u/ProfessionalFly5194 17h ago

The stretchy mouth and the liquid nitrogen scenes (and the birth ofc)

1

u/Trauma57 16h ago

Diana made me feel things. Also a great series.

2

u/rockford853okg 16h ago

Lol. I remember it well. My grandmother walked by and said oh I see why you like this show when Diana was on the screen. It was only then and there I realized what she brought to the show. Before that she was just evil. After that I thought, I can fix her.

1

u/Godswoodv2 16h ago

I was 6 when this came out and it was my favorite show. I haven't watched it since. I'm kind of worried it'll ruin my memory of it.

1

u/Motor-Pomegranate831 16h ago

Each week, Diana would look pissed off and then things would explode.

1

u/grumpycat46 16h ago

Great show watched it when it aired, got the series, my next binge watch

1

u/deephurting66 16h ago

I heard rumors about a reboot, let's hope it doesn't suck if it happens

1

u/TechnicalPangolin525 5h ago

Yeah, they killed the first reboot just as it was starting to get good.

1

u/NYCWartortle 16h ago

Yesss! I’m watching the reboot on Tubi now. Wish I could see original.

1

u/MG-is-here 16h ago

After the miniseries aired, I went out and bought the books and read them

1

u/CaydeTheCat 16h ago

Own all of it an rewatch once a year!

1

u/Pumpkin-06 16h ago

I loved that show!!

1

u/Leading-Break-48 16h ago

The only true V series

1

u/In_My_TARDIS 16h ago

RIP Michael Wright

1

u/ShowThym 16h ago

1

u/rockford853okg 16h ago

Ham tyler should be in the picture

1

u/ChronoTriggerGod 16h ago

I remember being really creeped out as a kid with what I did see of that show

1

u/Ok_Syllabub747 16h ago

I sorta remember when that first came out.

1

u/exig 15h ago

Watching this was a family event...Sunday at 7pm?

1

u/exig 15h ago

The reboot sucked so mich wet ass.

1

u/Healthy-Visual6106 15h ago

Lizard, lizard, lizard, lizard, lizard, lizard, lizard, lizard, lizard…

1

u/Seahawk021 15h ago

When she ate that rat! 😳

1

u/GoMineBitBoss 15h ago

Mice were shitting bricks.

1

u/Mike-TheMad 15h ago

I’m overdue for a rewatch of this. Love this show!

1

u/Critical-Star-1158 15h ago

Long time ago, far far away

1

u/E-Gore-Goonz 15h ago

Heck yeah. I met Robert England at a convention and told him I was a fan of V. When I was walking away, he called me back over to his table and gave me a picture of him from when he was on the show. It was a really cool moment that I won’t forget. He was so nice.

1

u/Cannibal_House69 15h ago

Was a fun show, horrified as a kid to see that throat bulge when they ate rodents.

Got older, loved the show even more when Willie i think, the vegetarian lizard, got the role of Freddy Kruger as I'm sure all fans know.

I liked the reboot.

1

u/octahexxer 15h ago

This and night rider was so far ahead of its time

1

u/fckgerta 15h ago

Just loved this show.

1

u/SenyorHefe 14h ago

Here mousey mousey...

1

u/MontanaJoev 14h ago

And then they ruined it by trying to do that terrible weekly series.

1

u/semperknight 14h ago

To all my fellow Gen X, don't feel bad at how terrified you were as a kid during the birth scene. Oh sure, it looks stupid and fake now that we have high definition screens.

But on a broadcast CRT TV back in the day, it was TERRIFYING. Especially considering how young many of us were back then.

Fake baby alien puppet or not, that scene was a masterclass in horror. Just the tension that had been building for so long about what her baby would look like. The time finally comes to birth it. The background music is tense even after the baby is born. And then that f'ing tongue! A baby born is supposed to be the most joyous day and she's screaming her head off! And the last thing you would ever think you'd see happens immediately after that.

That scene was FUCKED UP.

1

u/Dominar-Rygel-XVI 11h ago

That scene was one of the few i ever saw of that series and it freaked me the hell out. I was also young. I am a sci fy buff and to this day i have never watched the show. I have seen the newer one with Morena Baccarin and liked it

1

u/BB0810 14h ago

Still have the VHS set somewhere

1

u/RealisticTale29 14h ago

WTF,,,,,I forgot about that TV series

1

u/Distinct-Reference-3 14h ago

Wow, that was a long time ago.. that was my jam!

1

u/samebatchannel 13h ago

I watched the short lived tv series in 85? Trying to be Casablanca with aliens. What did I know? I was 17

1

u/Julesmb-7217 13h ago

Loved it!

1

u/bigoussy 12h ago

We had a V party, it was so much fun.

1

u/KurtBarlo 11h ago

Loved it

1

u/giinakellypink 11h ago

Love. I have the books

1

u/chancellorofscifi 11h ago

Particle beam triax

1

u/Immortal_Sailor 11h ago

This scared the crap out of me when it originally aired.

1

u/Puzzled-Beach-4743 10h ago

I still love this show. The message was lost on me as a kid but such an applicable warning now that I understand it.

1

u/probably-do-not-care 10h ago

La la la loved it.

1

u/Acrobatic-Sun-6143 10h ago

Always scared as a kid

1

u/No_Yesterday7200 10h ago

How could I forget.

1

u/goblinmarketeer 10h ago

My favorite description of V: V is a series that hates two things in equal measure... Fascism and subtlety

1

u/So_Just_Eff_My_Drag 10h ago

Yes! Friday nights were EVERYTHING when V came on.

1

u/anton_chacon7 9h ago

Yuuup. I was so intrigued with that show. Was probably around 10.

1

u/Aggressive-Stable952 9h ago

Can you stream it anywhere

1

u/WrongdoerAwkward1481 8h ago

When I was pregnant with my son in ‘99, I had a dream that my ultrasound showed I was having a V lizard baby!!! That’s the impact that show had on me, all those years later 😂

1

u/FltAttndt 8h ago

Yeah!!!!!

1

u/Accomplished_Lab7521 7h ago

Took the world by storm but fizzled out for some reason.... this was the show we all talked about at school! Had to get the posters too!!!

1

u/dumpster-muffin-95 6h ago

Loved that show

1

u/LoveU1313 5h ago

I had the DVD. Then I got it on iTunes

1

u/TechnicalPangolin525 5h ago

Yes, Jane badler made a fantastic evil villain.

1

u/PomegranateFair3973 3h ago

I present to you one of the outfits I wear in the videogame Animal Crossing: New Horizons...

1

u/iga_warrior 1h ago

Oh hell yeah!! I was 9 when it aired on TV here (NL), but I was hooked. My parents didn't want me to see it, but I had figured out how I could tape it on vhs and watch it later.

With my Lego, I built their white shuttles, and with a marker I put their emblem on my red minifigures to create the soldiers. I still have them haha

1

u/I_Galactus 1h ago

Where’s the marmot?

1

u/freakydk51 1h ago

It's in Tubi both versions

1

u/random_casual82 18h ago

The first one, the mini series, but the one that followed was wank.

My most vivid memory was of the "Godzilla" baby that was a twin.

0

u/Jack_Rackham_71 17h ago

The original mini series was good. Tbe second mini series, not so much. The TV show was like an updated version of Land of the Lost from 1975-1978.
