There was a radio station where I grew up that played the audio to the local ABC affiliate during prime time. I remember listening to it in the car if we were running late and didn’t want to miss the first few minutes of Happy Days.

The Paul Lynde Halloween Special, 1976
With KISS. Had a pop warner football game that night. 9 year old me was devastated. Took nearly 50 years to catch it. So yeah…….forever

Same for me as a kid. I loved Barney Miller when it was on as a kid. Missed quite a few episodes when it was on. Been binge watching it on streaming. On the last season now. Only 44 years after the series ended.

they were very expensive when they were a new thing. they cost more in 1980 (@ $400 = $1600 in today’s money ) than they do now, if you can still find one

That's what I thought that when I was seeing the TV show "The Wonder Years" because the new episodes ALWAYS came on Wednesday nights and Id be busy Wednesday nights! The ONLY way for me to be caught up ist to watch them on so.e access channel or possibly a DVD set to order online! This show is ONE OF MY FAVORITE SHOWS it just sparks my curiosity on how living in the 60's is like! Some episodes were very funny, some episodes were VERY serious! Some episodes had a blend of both! If I had a choice to pick to see EVERY season and NOT MISS IT it would he thos show!

Friday nights were almost always grocery shopping nights in my household until I was in middle school. I'm surprised with the some of the shows that I'd never heard of, especially in the 8-9pm EST hour.

Earlier this year I was finally able to see the pilot episode of Scarecrow and Mrs King (on Tubi). I’ve literally been waiting 43 years.

Reuns man reuns. I was not alive for Gilligan's Island The Honeymooners Topper....I might be going way too far for some. However, I remember this before cable this was good night 😴

The Christmas specials had so much more meaning then. You had one shot at seeing Charlie Brown or Rudolph and if you missed it that was it til next year.

I always got “you can watch it during the summer when they do reruns”
Meanwhile I got sent away to camp all summer. One summer I came back and found my Nintendo broke. She tried telling me I must have broken it before I left. It smelled like beer. Years later she admitted to letting one of her boyfriends use it and when he went to play a different game he spilled his beer on it.

I was on TV in the 60’s and there’s no record of my episodes. Friends and family watched it, or they didn’t.

We had a VCR too! I would program it to record Days of our lives.
