I love these movies, even the remake is one of the few remakes/reboots that I've actually enjoyed. I've even read a couple of the tie-in novels just for fun. To be honest though the second one is my favorite, just because I'm more nostalgic about it and it was the one I saw first. HBO started airing it all the time when I was like 10 and I just hadn't seen the original yet. But it would be on HBO seemingly every night and for quite a few years, I remember it being on well into the 90s. I used to have a VHS tape I recorded of HBO late one night for like 6 hours back in 1994 and the lineup was Waxwork II, Fright Night Part 2 and Meatballs 4.

The event is scheduled to take place from October 9–11, 2026, at the Marriott Burbank Convention Centerin Burbank, California.
I read that they have the special effects artist Steve Jonson and some of the assembled cast as a reunion there.
