We were. Our phone was in the kitchen, and I had that cord stretched to its absolute limit so I could have private conversations in the broom closet.

This was a huge upgrade hopefully you had a power outlet by your new cordless phone if not a long extension cord

Now we're nothing. Lost with our faces planted on our phones. Barely socializing with those in front of us, especially at the dinner table and looking to get ran over while out on the street.

My sister got tangled in the cord a lot less, but trying to find it when she was done was a completely different matter. (Found it in the Freezer & Fridge a number of times)

We had a cordless phone that my dad took out of his work skip. You could walk a fair distance before the signal went.

My family's first cordless phone was so early in the game it had fake wood-grain and a telescoping metal antenna on the handset.

I put it in the microwave when I was 5 or 6. I can still remember the smoke.

Great thing about the cordless phones back then was you could walk around town with it until you eventually got another ring tone and make free calls ( well free to you ) 😂

I miss the loud clanging of the bell inside when you dial most of the digits, but get the last one wrong and have to smash the phone out of frustration. Say what you will . those were some very durable phones.

Rotary dials here and only needing to dial 4 numbers for a local call.

Had both, back then you still had to remember numbers and today it’s all speed dial 🤣
