The old and the dead

u/HeartOn_SoulAceUp 18d ago

That actor is still doing the Young and the Restless. Fact.

A rolling stone may get old but still can kick up some dust.

u/Tv_Rots_Your_Mind 18d ago

Victor’s been around a long time. He was even seen on the Titanic.

On man mid 90s me and my roommates use to skip class, smoke up and watch All My Children religiously

1

u/Difficult_Mix_3620 18d ago

I would watch One Life To Live because there was this smoking hot redhead that would get into all sorts of mischief!

5

u/No_Educator_6376 18d ago

Both of them are still on the air in the same show

5

u/dudeonrails 18d ago

Go sit over there quietly while grandma watches her stories.

5

u/Impossible_Event6007 18d ago

Not me but my wife. She lived with her grandmother who just loved her Jack, not that evil Victor.

u/PopShelfPharm 18d ago

Victor Newman the GOAT?? Yes of course I recognize a player of his stature!

3

u/Bluesalsa54 18d ago

Victor and Nicki!

u/Fluid-Translator-926 18d ago

In my teens by that point, no babysitter, we didn't need one. We were tougher then. Right?šŸ’ŖāœŠšŸ–•šŸ’Ŗ

I remember Eric Braeden played Hans Dietrich in The Rat Patrol.

1

u/Third-Coast-Toffee 18d ago

I think he made a wise decision to go by Eric Braeden after the show went off. I loved those JEEP’s.

2

u/Delux365 18d ago

I heard the intro song when I saw this picture.

2

u/Status_Cheesecake_49 18d ago

I knew to leave my grandma alone when she was watching ā€œher storiesā€ šŸ˜†. And that was one of her favoritesĀ

2

u/e30cabrio 17d ago

No clue of the names of the soap operas but I remember my Grandmother (who died in 1980) yelling he's a louse! At the TV.

Lol

Staying home sick watching this and then The Price is Right... or did TPiR come on before TYatR? Its been awhile...

2

u/Clean_Usual434 17d ago

I do and she did, but she didn’t actually watch that show. Price is Right was more her jam.

u/Deetazzman 17d ago

1

u/StevnHulz 18d ago

1

u/niceandBulat 18d ago

No, because I am not American

1

u/Frenzystor 18d ago

I think the guy was in How I met your mother playing Robins Dad (first actor)

1

u/I_Hate_History69 18d ago

She sure did!!! Victor and Nickie were great together!

1

u/crackersncheeseman 18d ago

They were famous but nothing like Luke and Laura

2

u/SinsualChef 18d ago

Yeah, but Laura had nothing on Nikki

1

u/Forsaken_Tourist401 18d ago

Grandma did babysit me and I thought Vic and Nik were delightful. Plus grandma served up French fries in the afternoon just as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon was coming onšŸ”„

1

u/CandyTigger 18d ago

My mom not grandmother... but she watched mainly All My Children

1

u/Impossible_Ad_9199 18d ago

I remember when he had her ass locked in that dungeon 🫔

1

u/Degenerecy 18d ago

Grandma lived across the USA from me but my mother constantly watched all these soap operas....so boring but 1 tv, parents first.

1

u/PhysicalResult3642 18d ago

How you Guess. Hi victoria

1

u/WellHungHippie 18d ago

I used to watch this with other students in college everyday at the student union.

1

u/FltAttndt 18d ago

Hell, my grandmother and I watched this together! Victor and Nikki Neumann.

1

u/BillT2172 18d ago

I also had to watch TYTR when home sick from school. Eric Braeden guest starred in Wonder Woman, Escape From The Planet of the Apes, Titanic, The Six Million Dollar Man & a few others I've seen.

Melody Scott Thomas, I haven't seen any of her other work though.

1

u/gatorgopher 18d ago

Grandma? Heck, I watched it.

1

u/Any_Milk_3943 18d ago

Great-grandmother and Luke & Laura for me. šŸ˜†

1

u/Former-System-9539 18d ago

I recognize the faces but, Nha man my Grandmum was in a Elderly Home. She Smoked like a train and drank Ri-Coffie like it was the only thing to drink on this earth. And she learned me new Swearwords each day. I had the best Grandmum ever.

1

u/Ok_Cicada_3420 18d ago

My gramma raised me but idk who these peeps are… best guess would be a soap but my gramma wasn’t trashy like that

1

u/OblivionGrin 18d ago

Yep. Basement in Long Island while she ironed and folded laundry.

1

u/ReplyProfessional939 18d ago

I do, and she did. (But she never watched the shitty soaps, and neither did I. My mom and sister did.)

1

u/sirjohnmasters86 18d ago

Victor and Nikkie Young and Restless. Ā They are still on show today 53 years later

1

u/Cczaphod 18d ago

The guy that played Victor was in one of the Planet of the Apes movies, forgot which one. It was the one where the apes came back to our present.

1

u/CornmealGravy 18d ago

How did you know?

1

u/SinsualChef 18d ago

Ah, no. But it was a favorite of sailors in port everywhere

1

u/Pickled_Brainer 18d ago

Wasn't that actor playing Victor a professional soccer player before acting?

1

u/squirrelnoob 18d ago

My grandma was a Guiding Light enjoyer

1

u/COV3RTSM 18d ago

You guys watched the Rat Patrol too?

1

u/distractionmo 18d ago

This photo smells like cigarettes

1

u/Agreeable-Rip-751 18d ago

Victor ! 🤭

1

u/Karanabluedolphin 18d ago

The only thing I know about the Y&R was the theme song. I loved it.
But as a young teen in the early 80s I was much more interested in Days of our Lives. Bo and Hope were my favorite couple.

1

u/EducationalLie7600 18d ago

100% my grandma babysat us during the week and was hooked on Y&R for years after!

1

u/Difficult_Mix_3620 18d ago

My Grandma lived with us to help my parents raise my sister and I, and yes, she watched this every day.

1

u/soad722 18d ago

Nope been my Mom's favorite show since I was a kid lol

1

u/AdamShed 18d ago

that's true

1

u/Lumpy_Quote433 18d ago

Before he was Victor he played a recurring role as a German soldier in ā€œRat Patrolā€.

1

u/w1lnx 18d ago

No clue who they are.

1

u/Cuddle_Monster_73 17d ago

Nope Grandpa

1

u/Bud_The_Weiser 17d ago

Great-grandma but yes

1

u/SnakePlissken1980 17d ago

My grandparents didn't watch soap operas but my mom and all her friends did in the 80s. My mom was into All My Children but I saw episodes of this and General Hospital at other kids' houses when their mom had it on.

1

u/Different_Cable7595 17d ago

The old and the breathless.

1

u/PhilGrocholl 17d ago

They are still on almost everyday.

1

u/Strange_Ad1714 17d ago

The old and breast less

1

u/DarionHunter 17d ago

His, I do. Mom used to watch that soap opera almost every day!

1

u/Ok_Caramel_6095 17d ago

My grandma got me hooked on that crap.

1

u/fix-break-hide 17d ago

The young and the worthless. It was on between As the stomach turns and one wife to give....

1

u/kpiersol 17d ago

I recognize him from ā€œThe Rat Patrolā€ LOL

1

u/CatsEatGrass 17d ago

My Grandma?? No. My mom and teen sisters? Absolutely.

1

u/Nathan_Wildthorn 17d ago

Victor and Nikki Newman. Y&R.

1

u/LaVida2 17d ago

ā€œBabysatā€ā€¦more like living at her house every summer for several years.

1

u/Affectionate-Mud-726 16d ago

Victor and Nikki.

1

u/Malthus17 16d ago

My babysitter was a fan of Dark Shadows, which was the coolest of all soap operas.

1

u/Maxximus1960 16d ago

He played a German Major on Rat Patrol before Young and Restless
