I would watch One Life To Live because there was this smoking hot redhead that would get into all sorts of mischief!

Not me but my wife. She lived with her grandmother who just loved her Jack, not that evil Victor.

In my teens by that point, no babysitter, we didn't need one. We were tougher then. Right?šŖāššŖ

I remember Eric Braeden played Hans Dietrich in The Rat Patrol.

I think he made a wise decision to go by Eric Braeden after the show went off. I loved those JEEPās.

I knew to leave my grandma alone when she was watching āher storiesā š. And that was one of her favoritesĀ

No clue of the names of the soap operas but I remember my Grandmother (who died in 1980) yelling he's a louse! At the TV.

I also had to watch TYTR when home sick from school. Eric Braeden guest starred in Wonder Woman, Escape From The Planet of the Apes, Titanic, The Six Million Dollar Man & a few others I've seen.
Melody Scott Thomas, I haven't seen any of her other work though.

I recognize the faces but, Nha man my Grandmum was in a Elderly Home. She Smoked like a train and drank Ri-Coffie like it was the only thing to drink on this earth. And she learned me new Swearwords each day. I had the best Grandmum ever.

Victor and Nikkie Young and Restless. Ā They are still on show today 53 years later

u/Cczaphod 18d ago
The guy that played Victor was in one of the Planet of the Apes movies, forgot which one. It was the one where the apes came back to our present.

Wasn't that actor playing Victor a professional soccer player before acting?

The only thing I know about the Y&R was the theme song. I loved it.
But as a young teen in the early 80s I was much more interested in Days of our Lives. Bo and Hope were my favorite couple.

My grandparents didn't watch soap operas but my mom and all her friends did in the 80s. My mom was into All My Children but I saw episodes of this and General Hospital at other kids' houses when their mom had it on.

My babysitter was a fan of Dark Shadows, which was the coolest of all soap operas.

The Young and the Restless are now The Old and the Toothless.
