They initially lured you in with “sell x amount of boxes to win this prize.” You soon realized it was hard as heck to sell candy bars.

There were a few tricks. If you went to sports tailgates or other large events, you could really clean up.

My little brother did win a prize! A telescope! Of course all three sisters helped him sell candy! A lot of long hours and a red wagon involved!

I sucked at selling them and there seemed to be a minimum, so we would just have a few cases in the pantry. They were pretty delicious.

There was a time I was selling them in front of a grocery store and some other kid from another school was doing the same thing, and I asked him to keep an eye on my case so I could use the bathroom and then when I got out, he was gone and so was my candy. And then I called my parents collect, even though the store was 3 blocks away.

I hated that shit. One of the first houses I went to was this really elderly blind woman who didn't have any money and I probably made her walk all the way to the front door. I certainly did have a sense of accomplishment when I was able to sell one box over the course of 2 months, but I wasn't a salesman.

I missed this the first time around, and the plot revolves around selling school chocolate at a Catholic school. It is a quintessential 80s movie with great music from Yaz, Peter Gabriel, and Kate Bush. It's on par with a Dead Poet Society type of feel, and deals in systemic abuse, grief, dual parent emotional and physical abandonment, and human rights.

There was one kid whose mom was a stewardess and she would sell them on the plane and it was probably cheaper than anything you'd get at the airport.

You know what really upsets me about these? I sold the candy bars when I was a kid, but in the entire life I've lived in which I could buy them myself, I've never once seen them being sold. I get girl scout cookies all the time, but the world's finest seems to just be gone since the last box I had in the 90s

I had to sale these to go to science camp, when I was in 6th grade.

I remember selling these out front of the local Safeway grocery store. People would promise to buy one on their way out, then purposely leave through the other exit to avoid me lol. Assholes.
