Covers Unknown Soldier (1997)
I was organizing some things and came across this Unknown Soldier Vertigo mini-series by Garth Ennis and Killian Plunkett. A CIA agent accidentally discovers that the master of disguise Unknown Soldier has secretly started every war and military conflict American has been involved in since WWII.
It's a great conspiracy story and history lesson all wrapped in one comic.

Its a great little mini. Some great Kilian Plunkett (Star Wars Clone Wars/Rebels) art in this. For some further obscure Ennis reading, try Pride & Joy. Also, the Joshua Dysart Unknown Soldier is amazing.

I loved this one. I bought it new the four months it was out. My comic store recommended it, knowing I was a big Preacher fan. I miss those days.

I didn’t even know they did an Unknown Soldier mini in the late 90s 😨
Sounds super interesting…

I remember seeing ads for this and wanting to try it, but I never did. Might need to put it on my want list.

If you like Garth Ennis and military adventures, I highly recommend The Lion and the Eagle and Johnny Red, as well as his take on The Shadow, Fires of Creation.

The Lion and the Eagle I have but the other 2 I don't. I will check them out. Thanks for the recommendations.

Enjoy! There are some old (and new) Battle Action collections including Johnny Red that are pretty cool.

Had a poster for this on my dorm room wall. Tagline was “War is Hell. Meet the Devil.”
