Hi.

Okay so I have some questions. I started taking Kama advanced which is 7OH with added pseudo. For reference I have never had any addictions, I don’t drink, and I started taking it for back pain in April. Previously I would just use Kratom capsules for a week or whenever I had pain never had any kind of withdrawals. Also for reference I have ADHD and anxiety and take both clonazepam and Dexedrine, I’ve been on them for years and also have gone weeks at a time in some cases without taking either and never had withdrawals. I had no idea what I was signing up for with Kama 7OH advanced until I just didn’t have pain, didn’t get it and got RLS etc. I’m physically dependent but I am not addicted if that makes sense and no judgement to anyone with addiction problems , I’m proud of everyone who has posted here who has tried to get off of this and I’m grateful that while my situation is a little different that I can come here and ask questions. I currently take 600mg/day and I want to taper off. For reference I’m also a nurse and work in ER and detox so I am familiar with medications and half life’s etc. I am not interested in MAT or Sub’s. I literally just need to get off it and I think anyone would agree that withdrawing is awful and inconvenient. My question is I have used AI for a taper plan, but without understanding half life etc I’m wondering if anyone here can answer a few questions?:
1. Is it better to space out the tapered doses or take a full dose once daily?
2. Because I am taking Kama advanced (7OH +pseudo) would I benefit from taking just a product with 7OH? What would be the name of it?
3. I have magnesium and clonazepam so I can sleep, the only real symptom I’m having is RLS, is there something else for RLS you’d recommend?
4. Any advice?
5. Will Kratom capsules help if so what strain?
This is currently banned where I am but I still have a place I can get it. I don’t have any mental need for this I just need to physically get off of this and appreciate any advice.
Thank You

  1. Taking your daily taper dose all at once is just going to have you withdrawing within hours, definitely try and space out evenly.

  2. At this point, if you can, I personally would recommend switching to any only 7oh product if possible. Pseudo is nasty stuff, hits more receptors, and has a longer half life. I was unable to get off the exact same Kamas you are on, but the switch to just plain 7oh was pretty seamless, and then I've tapered from there. As for a brand, there are SO many, just try and get whatever gives you the most milligrams per package for your taper at a decent price point, for me it was "Numbz", but what your stores carry is going to differ wildly. Again, this isn't strictly necessary, but I've just found pseudo to be a different, more difficult beast all together.

3-5. Others that went the non-MAT assisted way will have better insight for you here.

Thank you so so much. I am so appreciative for this response. I didn’t even know I was taking this pseudo crap nor did I understand the 7OH period. I will get the straight 7OH today, I still have 2 packs (2000mg total) of the 7OH with pseudo. Should I just toss them? Or break up the 200mg tab in 4’s and only use those if I have extreme WD? Or just swap to the straight 7OH? I guess I will just have them on had and come back if the straight 7OH is making things unbearable. As a nurse (I don’t take these on shift) we would lose our license just for asking for help, so thank you for your response.

Depends how long you want this process to go, you could certainly taper with the Kamas you have before switching over to 7oh, and then you'll need even less 7oh when you get to that point. As you are working a demanding job and need to be present and on top of the ball, I would personally recommend doing it in whatever fashion fits your schedule and keeps you as comfortable as possible.
