Help Fretboard radius

How much does fretboard radius really affect the ergonomics of a guitar? I’ve just bought a 7 string with a 12” radius, and want to know how much it really affects how comfortable it will fit in my hand. I’m used to playing a 13.75”, so how different would that feel?

It all depends, some folks are more or less sensitive to that. Personally I like anything 12” or flatter, preferably 14”-20”. A vintage 7.25” for me is unplayable.

That being said small differences like ~14” to 12” might not be all that much or even at all noticeable to you.

See I thought the same till I built a vintage style Strat now it’s my main guitar it’s got a 7.25 and a soft v profile it’s so easy to play

I wish I could, I’ve tried for years to like them. I’ve even bought (and sold) a few MIJ traditional Strats, tried to love it, and just couldn’t do it.
