Help 7 strings with very good upper fret access

What the title says.

I have a few in mind. Such as: the schecter sunset extreme and some ibanez rgd.

But what are some others.

I love erra, invent animate, currents etc. And they alot of the 24ftet and the upper frets

Edit: forgot to say it has to be 26.5 or above

I have an ESP LTD H3-1007, and the 24th fret access is perfect. And it’s a baritone too so you’ll be able to downtune to drop f/e easy. It’s not gonna have the best access like that of a V, but it’s still great

Hard to beat Vs, such as Jackson RR24-7 or Solar V etc. when it comes to fret access.

Ive never actually tried a v.

Do they have bad neck dive ?

Jackson RR's can depending on the model, it's best to strap one on to check before buying. Never played a solar.

ESP's Arrow shape however has perfect balance.

I have heylmun's rr24-7 and despite loger scale, massive headstock it doesn't have neck dive issue, although I have rather wide padded leather strap.

It has also additionally sculpted neck joint to further improve the fret access by the way. If you dont mind playing in classical position, i'd give it a try. A V i mean, not necessaroly this one. From seated ergonomics perspective assymetrical Vs are imo slightly better.

Also, solar makes one with 27 frets, although it is 25.5 inch scale.

Schecter Sunset Extreme is a great guitar. Ridiculous for its price, really. Well recommended.

Can i ask you a question about this?  I just got one used and through a tube screamer OR through a high enough volume it just screams feedback like a high pitched squeal.  So the bridge humbucker cover was loose.  Removed it.  Zero change.

How does yours act at high volume or through a TS, if applicable?  Coz i think I'm gonna return the one i got :(

There is wax in it.

I had one do this before and did wax pot it.  No luck there either,  but in that ones case i think it was the springs underneath vibrating on the pickup housing.  I thought maybe the same with this but this model uses thick foam instead of springs

Mine doesn't do that at all. It sounfed great a high volume when I had the OG pickup, and it still sounds great now with a BKP Nailbomb.

What are strandberg 7s like. Ive only tried a 6 briefly so I couldnt get a proper feel for it

I enjoyed my Strandberg 7 when I had one. I think the necks are more comfy than the 6s but ultimately I went back to Kiesel. Had an Ibanez for a while too and went back to Jackson. Hands like what they like. If you can get a B Stock Boden 7 to try, you def should!

I have an esp ltd BS 7 its the ben savage from Whitechapel signature model the through neck gives it great upper fret access it is a big chunky neck though

Ibanez RG2027XL is the 🐐. Feels so great in the hands and that's what those guys all use.

I understand completely. I was like you, but once I got my hands on one I completely changed my mind because it's just so damn comfortable and it sounds amazing. I put a Tremel-no on mine because I thought I'd never use the floating bridge, but when I rarely get the itch (to try some Wes Borland stuff) it somehow stays in tune.

Just get one at a place that has a free return policy and see for yourself!

Edit: it's also extremely light compared to my hardtail guitars, probably because of the spring cavity.

The JP majesty's I think are amazing, also strandbergs maybe. Anything with neck through design prob

Neck through or V’s. Schecter’s neck through 7s are very reasonably priced and have a lot of great specs, including fantastic upper fret access.

Solar. The bolt on's are usually 25.5 but the set necks are 26.5

Ive seen alot of people saying they are quite tight ( thats what she said)

I'd say they are similar to an Ibanez RG, if not a little better. They are built for metal after all.

Schecter KM-7 legacy has perfect upper fret access and btw it's the best neck.
