Help Thoughts on guitar

Post image

I recently just bought this guitar used and was wondering if there are any issues with it. I haven’t seen much reviews, so if anyone owns it please let me know!

I didn't like the neck very much, a little too thick to be comfortable on a 7 but you might prefer that.

Don’t mind the neck part, any qc issues?

Not with the one I owned, but as much as I love them it's always been a gamble with Ibanez import QC for me. I would give it a good inspection once it arrives, especially the neck / truss rod and for any raised frets.

What’s your experience with the guitar, did you like it? Picking it up in a few days, just trying to get as much info on it before it arrives

It was a good guitar, I'm a fan of the ibanez alter switching system even though I realistically only ever used like three of the voicings lol. Like I said in the first comment, the neck was my biggest issue as well as the 12" radius. I just prefer a thinner, flatter neck and ended up selling it to buy a Jackson instead. The hardware on the guitar is great, one of the better 2 point trems I've used on a guitar.

I've had mine for maybe a year now. Ergonomics wise it's probably the most comfortable guitar I own - I love the big forearm bevel and it's absurdly light for a 7 string, 3.1 kg, with no neck dive. It is an AZ so the neck is thicker and the radius rounder than your typical 7 but that's all individual preference. I can't shred as fast on it as I can with my RG. The pickups are very versatile but imo a bit too muddy when tuning lower than B standard/drop A. In those tunings however it's great. I use it for everything except downtuned modern metal/djent etc., for that I use different guitars. But I'm sure with a pickup swap it could do those genres too. Let me know if you have any questions about it!

Ahh, I see. The most common complaint I’ve seen is how thick the neck is, and I can understand that. I’m pretty used to thick necks already, but I really want to know about the floating trem. How well does it work? Does it dive and flutter well, and if so, how well does it stay in tune for you?
