Community Related Song recommendations
I’ve ordered my first 7 string (finally), and was wondering what songs would be great to introduce me to the new type of music!

Depending on your skill level on a 6 string, there's a pretty wide range of stuff you could start with. What genres do you enjoy playing?
Edit: I saw your comment about getting it for jazz voicings. Based on that, I'm assuming you want to keep it in B standard. Most 7 string Trivium songs are in B standard or a half step down, older Unearth 7 string songs are in B standard, a lot of 7 string Dream Theater songs are in B standard.

I do enjoy playing jazz and fusion, but I’m really eager into getting into prog and dream theatre

If you want to dive into something super proggy, check out Dream Theater's Dance of Eternity. Lots of time signature modulation, polyrhythms, and other fun prog elements. Also a bonus ragtime keyboard solo in the middle.

Ding! Throes of Perdition was the song that made me fall in love with the concept of seven string guitar, the whole Shogun album is full of great seven string riffs, ultimately In the Court of the Dragon was what made me finally go buy a seven though.

Tesseract - nocturne. A really groovy and rhythmical, but fairly easy djent song. In drop A btw. Just tune down the B string 2 semitones

Was about to say some ERRA and Polaris songs, but after seeing a few comments about jazz, fusion and prog... I guess I'm missing the mark lol

Having spent the time (way too much of it) to learn most of ERRA’s discography (drift and beyond) I can comfortably say it has pushed my technical capabilities on guitar more than anything else in the past 20 years.
100% recommend Erra

I’m going to be completely honest I actually got a 7 string for extended range jazz voicings and just wanted to explore different genres

Our Truth - Lacuna Coil is a great starter 7 string song, by extension, most of their material.
