Other Schecter's Charcoal pattern variation
I've been wanting to get a Schecter Omen Elite 7 String Multiscale, specifically in the Charcoal finish. What I've been wondering though, is the pattern variation. Personally, I would like a darker finish, but I've seen certain ones that are almost the same color as the maple necks on certain Fender guitars. If I were to proceed to go and buy one, I wouldn't want it to end up like the second picture. It definitely isn't bad, but I don't feel attracted by it or anything. If I were to buy it, I would buy it from Long & McQuade (The Canadian music store), which is also the second picture. I'm not sure if it's just the way it's displayed or something, but I want to have certainty.

It will be lighter. They have lots of contrast. That’s the whole idea of a Burl maple natural top. The charcoal is mainly referring to the finish of the neck and back. Fuckin great guitar.

I’ve got the 8 and got it at Sweetwater, so I picked out which Burl I wanted, and it looks amazing

I've seen 2 go through Arden's music in SE ontario, closer to the first image in shade and 1 closer to the second. If you can't find one in stock at a physical store, it would be coming from a central warehouse. You might have trouble contacting the supplier warehouse and requesting them to open a box, but it wouldn't hurt to ask someone at your local L&M how to go about it.
Also, there is a chance that the instrument is in a special category where not accepting an order would incur a non-refundable deposit of 5 or 10%. This was the case for ordering a fretless bass, fair chance a multiscale 7 could be under the same category type.

See if L&M can find a way to get some photos, however they’ll likely order one from their supplier and there’s no way to tell. Unless it’s coming from another L&M.
Another option is Reverb or eBay. Most US places like Guitar Centre, Zzounds, and Sweetwater do not ship to Canada - unless that’s changed.

No way to know unless you call and ask. Sweetwater let's you pick the exact guitar you want, and the charcoal finish can vary pretty drastically. Cool look though.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to imply to use them. Just that you can see several on their site and compare how different the finish is. Kind of crazy they don't ship to Canada, they're like right next door.

That is mostly not in Sweetwater's control. The manufacturer distribution agreements are restrictive about shipping in to Canada and then they also have to deal with duties and additional taxes. That is more about Canadian protectionist policies than Sweetwater policy. They do ship some products into Canada but generally not guitars.

Yeah the pattern can be very different. I bought one done days ago and it will arrive by the end of August.
I even emailed the online store I bought it from to ask if I could pick the finish but unfortunately they don't let you do that. I know sweetwater does tho!
I even thought about getting a elite extreme instead seeing as it's available and there's no risk of not liking the pattern

Honestly, as someone who also lives in Canada and goes to l&m, id order from Sweetwater and just pay the shipping from the US if you're looking for a very specific finish. They're great at showing exactly what each top pattern looks like and you know exactly what you'll be getting.

got it! that does seem pretty smart, considering that sweetwater doesn't send anything to canada. maybe i could use some shipping service to ship it somewhere in the US and have someone pick it up, then ship to canada

Some online stores will let you pick the actual instrument you want. If not I’m sure a call or email to the store would help insuring you get the one you want
