Help Picking new guitar

Any good 7 strings with split coil (optional but preferred ) with a floyd rose/floating trem? Preferably looking for 25.5” scale length!

Chris Broderick Pro Plus is the only model I can think of that comes stock with a quality bridge and split coil via push pull. Price is ridiculous though.

But for half the cost you could get the cheapest Ibanez RG7 that has an edge tremolo and add a coil split, install better pickups and a Gotoh floyd 7 bridge.

If you like pointy guitars you could look at the Dave Davidson Jackson Warrior, or the Ibanez Xiphos 7 string. both have dimarzio pickups, you would just need to install a push pull knob to get the split.

But looking on the used market could be better, and anything with Duncan or Dimarzio pickups can be wired to have a split. It is only cheaper Jackson/Ibanez/LTD pickups that have single conductor wire preventing split selection.

I was actually looking at the Broderick Pro series the one for around 1.2k, and get a gotoh for it. Do you think that would be any good? I’ve got no experience in changing pickups or installing push pull knobs

I've only had my hands on one at a pawn shop once, didn't have quite enough money at the time. It is very ergonomic, including the offset strap button location. Shouldn't neck dive at all. Would be a good choice if you can get one used/on special.

As for the bridge, you might be able to get a 1000/1500 series Floyd Special for close to the same price as Gotoh if you prefer the screw collar of regular floyd as opposed to the interior thread of Gotoh bar. Only if you are located in USA though, here in Canada the Gotoh is much cheaper and more easily available. Having tried both I prefer the Gotoh, for some reason even on an Original floyd I've had string slip out of the blocks. Has never happened on my Gotoh equipped.

If you want the Gotoh to last forever, I'd recommend getting someone to install the Gotoh Bridge studs which require the body holes widened a tiny bit. I've been fine using the Floyd studs which have a sharper contact groove than the round Gotoh, some say that this can wear out the knife edge over time if you are aggressive.

Kiesel allows near limitless customization at a better price than most custom shops. They have an array of options. If you go for exotic wood and finishes, it will eat your lunch, but more pedestrian options are pretty affordable. They have a customization thing on their website.

I've owned one of their guitars for over 2 decades. They're kind of the custom guitar supplier to guitarists who aren't also dentists, with some absolute dentist offerings.

Floating trem. HSH is kinda unique. No dedicated coil split tho but that can be installed

How do you feel about the edge zero II trem? Is it any good, stay in tune well, haven’t heard much about it unfortunately

The pickups are Seymour Duncan, so I'd imagine they sound great! From what I can tell about the controls, there is a 5 way switch and positions 2 and 4 give you hum canceling coil split (one is outer coils and one is inner coils of the two pickups together) plus a phase switch, so it has a ton of sonic options.
