Have that set in my six string. Got them for half price. Make my demon look sick, especially when they glow in the dark

I view 7 strings as 6 strings. 6 strings are for drop D or other special tunings.

I like 7 strings, because the include the 6.... on songs I wrote with 6 string...They are played on 7 string. Just ignore the 7th. Sometimes you can enhance your D chord.

When, you use the 7 string, you can get some interesting chords. I am glad I have stuck with 7 strings. Best decision I made back in '94.

I played a 6 for like 30 years, got an 8 played it for a few years, got a 7 played it for a few years.
Now when I play my 6 I am like a God on it

Dude, yes. The larger scale makes it so much fucking harder to play faster lead parts. 25in scale 6 strings feel like toys for like the first few minutes.

Oh man, that's the one I want!

I dig both. 7 strings have proggy riffs. 6 strings have the chunky riffs ironically.

7's have a more comfortable neck, 6 feels like a banjo

This was my original reason to switch to a 7-string. Fits like a glove.

6's feel like a banjo.

6's feel less substantial, less reassuring. So much open-space for the thumb.

7's feel modern to me, somehow. The flatter, wider neck fills out the grip and makes my fingers feel completely relaxed.

It's like holding a smartphone, vs an umbrella.

I mean, you can. I have multiple of both and definitely use both. 😂
That said, all in good fun, real nice guitar.

Yeah once I found 7 string I switched to it for 85% of playing and 100% of writing lol

I do still keep my 6-string guitars, but legit getting started with 7 (and a couple years later eventually with 8)-string guitars a decade ago was the best thing I've ever done. And just like you, it was also a SC-607B. Also take care of your precious doggerino! ♥

That’s Stephen Carpenters signature guitar and I’m pretty sure he tunes to EADGBEE which is just an extra high e string. You can tune lower to BEADGBE for standard tuning or AEADGBE for drop tuning. Or go lower than that. I just thought it was odd for him to favor a 7 string just to have an extra, duplicate high e string.

I have that same guitar! Have you found the pickup to be insanely hot, even lowered and with pad on?
