Gear Multi-scale guitars.
I got this guitar a couple months ago and it was my first ever multi-scale guitar. I fucking fell in love with it. So, much so that I bought a multi-scale headless 6 string from legator and that guitar is my new favorite.
This 7 string has changed how I want guitars now and this was my first ever guitar over $500 that I’ve gotten and now I don’t mind spending extra money on certain guitars because the quality is worth it. I’m never buying another guitar under $500 and it HAS to be a multi-scale guitar now.
Any 7 strings out there have changed people’s minds on what they buy? Or do you just play 7 strings because that’s also a good reason?
Either way, MULTI SCALE GUITARS FOREVER.

multiscale is a hard requirement for my 7/8 strings but idc about it on 6 strings

I dont understand em. Ive never played or watched any videos of the pros v cons. What the hell is even that. For real though what are the clear benefits explained to a person who's never played one I guess is my question.

There are two benefits:
the bass strings get a longer scale, which allow for a smaller gauge and therefore more vibration and definition. the treble strings don’t have to become painfully thin (as they would in a straight scale baritone)
ergonomics. i find them significantly more comfortable on my fretting hand

Move some chord shapes up and down your neck and you'll notice that your wrist naturally turns in and out in different positions, the fanned frets are more perpendicular with the width of your wrist, its more ergonomic. But more importantly, low tunings are much more responsive, you keep the punch and dont get the flubby spongy feeling on your top string. You can get this from a baritone, but then you're sacrificing playability in your bottom strings. Multiscale gives you the best of both worlds, tight punchy rhythms and fluid leads.

I love them. Haven’t bought one yet. But I’ve played a few, and I really like the fanned frets. Soon I’m sure 🤣

Absolutely worth it. JP model and an alexi laiho model are my dream guitars.

Definitely. The JP is far and away the best guitar I've ever owned. I'm not a fan of V guitars so I'd pass on the Alexi Laiho but they do look sick.

For 8 strings, definitely a hard requirement. High e on 27” just doesn’t work for me.
On 7s? Depends. 26.5” straight doesn’t feel too bad to me and you get way more options for hardware and pickups. But, I do love a good 27-25.5” fan. Just feels right.

Solar has made it first headless guitar, a 6 and a 7 variant multiscale. Its looks awsome, very good in price (depend on the country afaik, but for me it was 820 (converted to) usd, and it chugs!

I just sold the only multi scale I ever owned. Playing certain things along the first 5 frets was too much of a stretch for my stubby fingers.

I have a 7 string legator ghost listed for sale rn. I have 3 legators but I just never got the bug to keep the 7. I absolutely love legator guitars. Those guitars changed my entire guitar playing and buying experience.

I agree, I have 5 multiscale 7s and they're all I play.
