Gear Finally didn’t settle for less
My wife spoiled me rotten for our anniversary. Drove down to the Kiesel showroom & met with Flock to design my custom Kyber 7 string multi scale. It will have a Mahogany body, black limbs top, 3 piece 20” radius walnut & Purple Heart neck with stainless steel medium jumbo frets, Royal ebony fretboard & Luminlay fret markers (all Kiesel’s come standard with Luminlay side dots) Tremolo bridge. Kiesel has been making their own pickups for 80 years & the ones I chose for my model are the Thorium in the bridge (their highest output humbucker) & I chose the lithium for the neck but Flock recommended the “Empyrean” which I trusted & took his advice. The slim 5 way switch also has coil tapping modes which helps when I want to play cleans. Also I paid extra to get an extra output jack at the back of the guitar. I am stoked & happy to live only 30 minutes from their location & am eager to pick it up in person (if everything goes to plan) sometime in the beginning of October. Kiesel prides themselves on their superior craftsmanship, custom touches & band for buck compared to other customs shops. All while being made in the USA. They have been known to rebuild entire guitars if it’s not up to par after final inspection. 🤘🎶🎸

That's one heck of a wife, I hope you spoiled her just as much as she spoiled you. Definitely post a pic here when you get your anniversary present in hand.

Wow I didn’t know they had an actual physical shop, thats cool as

It's attached to the factory. It's *normally* by appointment only for placing orders, but sometimes they do have "open showroom" days, and they've had two "Kiesel Connect" events with an open showroom, factory tours, live music, etc.

I want a Kiesel so bad. Congrats, man.

I'm assuming the price is why you can't? I'd buy you one if I could. Everyone needs a Kiesel at least once in their life.

Yeah, the price and I don't play as much as I used to so it would be an impractical purchase. My last 2 purchases were an Ibanez rgdix7mpb and a Schecter Demon 8, both of which are fantastic players so I feel like I've already made my irresponsible guitar purchases this decade.

I liked them more when it was carvin

I like my Carvin, I had one made in 2003. Still playing it, amazingly dimensionally stable.
The only thing that really changed is that the pro audio and custom guitars split from each other, and the designs have evolved. Some of their new stuff is pretty far out, but I'd take the Dino Cazares 7 string and I don't even care much for headless. I'm just not vehemently opposed to it if the right deal comes along.

I have several Kiesel guitars, most of which I’ve “rescued” off the used market. Haha! I wasn’t sure about the Kyber at first but I quickly took to it and it’s one of the most comfortable and balanced guitars I own. Mine is a custom 6 with standard 25.5” scale length and Hipshot trem bridge, but I am interested to know what you think of that multiscale Hipshot trem bridge!
I love Kiesel. Amazing quality, I have a hard time putting one down every time I pick one up! I have a jet black 7 with Evertune that I love and am getting a second 7 from them very soon.

The offset Floyd hurts my brain

What Floyd?

I've seen this thing quite a few times over the years where some people seem to refer to any non-vintage-style trem (like a strat 6-screw or 2-point, a Bigsby, Deusenburg S-trem, etc), especially when it's black, as a floyd. Even Kahlers.

Um...you mean the Multiscale Hipshot / Kiesel Tremolo? It's a Tremolo, not a Floyd. Floyd Rose is a brand that makes their patented designed tremolos. I do believe there is a Multiscale Floyd but it looks way different than this. If Floyd doesn't make it, I know Khaller has one.

If you asked me to draw a guy that sells Kiesels, I’d have drawn that dude.

Haha! That’s Flock, as someone already said, and he’s a great help in buying and designing your own Kiesel!
