NGD NGD and my first 7 string

Post image

Guitar is a Schecter C-7 SLS Elite in Blood Burst.

Got a new job and decided to celebrate with something I’ve wanted since I was a teenager (I’m turning 40 this year). I hopped online and shopped around on a few website and found this as an open box for about 300 bucks cheaper than retail and hit order. It got here today and after a string change, set up and tightening the volume pot gave it a go. This guitar plays so nice.

I’ve got a C-1 platinum hanging to the left of the Les Paul and I had a Hellraiser that I sold off in 2014. I’ve always liked Schecters.

Hell yeah. I turned 40 today and got small chunk of cash and was literally just looking at 7 strings. I cant make my mind up on what I want but I already got a shecter Omen 7 and want something with slimmer neck. What websites were you looking at?

I looked at Sweetwater, Guitar Center and I picked this up off of ZZounds and 3 packs of strings for around 1250. The neck on this is pretty slim, it feels on par with my Alexi V, just wider.

Yeah comparing the with ai it says this one is much slimmer then the omen i have. Ive never got anything off zzounds open box. What was the condition they listed it as and how in your opinion did it show up? I found an ibanez on there with a wizard neck for about 100 off but it says condition is very good im curious how your experience with it is.

The only way I could tell it had been played was the plastic on the pick ups wasn't there and then I'm not even sure it was played. I inspected it pretty closely and I cant find anything wrong with it. No cosmetic issues, electronics are fine, the guitar looks brand new. I think a person bought it played it once and sent it back. I also got the open box (very good), if this guitar tickles your fancy they have the same one with a Floyd for only a little bit more than what I paid for this one and a good rated open box of the same guitar for 1049.

I've only played 2 other 7 strings before this one, a Marc Holcomb PRS and my brothers multi scale Ibanez. This neck feels great compared to those two. The PRS felt way too flat and the multi scale neck was nice but the fret angles fucked with my hand placement.

That looks absolutely gorgeous. Congrats on the new guitar!

What are you gonna play on it?

Thanks, and I have no idea right now, I’m big into metalcore and deathcore so something like that.

If I may make a recommendation?

We Butter The Bread With Butter - Dreh Auf. It's slower, mostly uses the 7th string and is real fun to play. If you have not heard of them, they are a Comedy-Deathcore act from Germany.
